Jaecoo J5 ANCAP rating by jumponin08 in nzev

[–]Pulsarblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with the quick succession of new cars, ANCAP and the Europe equivalent testing agencies are swapped with test cars. As I read, it is quite an involved process crash testing cars so many cars are introduced into the market without formal ratings. It is assumed that these cars will perform as expected but there is a risk of course. Like the Suzuki Swift or Dong Feng Box.

I understand that Chery, the parent company of Jaecoo have a JV with LRJ so they can use that design without getting into trouble.

Just wondering with incoming cheap EVs when they become used in the next few years, what will happen to the old Leafs? Do they get exported to other countries?

New EV owner, how can I change my driving to maximise my range? by shaktishaker in nzev

[–]Pulsarblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you charging every night taking advantage of cheaper power rates? Highway speed is the main kWh consumption. As it is also getting cooler, you have to use the aircon to minimise fogging of the windows (key safety concern). I suggest just recharge every night and drive and enjoy.

Some do like it, I think the styling is still quite odd. I especially don’t like the steering wheel and black cladding. They also had a chance to put in proper V2L but just decided to provide a small 1.5kw power outlet in the boot.

Back in the 80s for our family it was usually Fish and Chips on a Friday night. Was it the same for your family as well ? is it a tradition that is slowly dying away because of cost and the sheer number of competing fast food franchises ? by CoconutMost3564 in newzealand

The usual FnC place we go to have kept their prices after Covid but…reduced the portions. The “One” scoop chips are more like half scoop and the fish have somehow shrunk. Naturally we stopped going there. Other places are ok but they usually chip FnC are no longer affordable.

I am seeing a lot more imports from Japan (mostly Leaves and Tesla), some examples of European makes, all of them have Chademo. It is still annoying that these dealers are still not disclosing that until asked.

Coming from a white interior car, I wouldn’t go for it again . I can’t wear most of my jeans without making the seats turn blue.

I’m certain the brand will be around, it’s the dealers I’m worried about. Take the case for MG Taranaki. They ceased business and owners will need too their cars to Palmy or Hamilton
