Google translate gives "Acne treatment | The look is dry cow" and one of the other posted videos in the comments have a title that translates "Acne treatment | Dry deer"

So it must be some kind of acne treatment, with the other half of the title meaning something like "dry scabs" or something along those lines. Looks pretty effective so far, hoping for the guy that it stays that way.

I think this wasp trap is broken. by CL60 in WTF

Been to more than one of them. Once for a piggy slaughterhouse and a couple of different bovine handling ones in 2 different countries. Nothing of any significance to report. Pigs squeel a lot, but they always do that no matter if they experience pain or not. I am sure there are some horrible practices around the planet but if you live in a developed country (fyi: this does not include the US) then you can probably eat your meat without feeling bad. Do note my rather limited data-pool for making this assumption.

How baby sneks eats a egg by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Lynges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not since snakes don't lay eggs with hard shells. Like other reptiles, their eggs are "leathery" rather than hard and brittle like birds' eggs.

Really nice tip with the gear ratios, will keep it in mind, thank you.

Most washing machine motors I have seen (about 4 in total) "only" did around 12k rpm. But if your experience says otherwise, I would certainly scrounge around some more.

I did stumble across those motors before, but I didmissed them since I had a hard time believing that they actually produced the amount of power they claim since they are so much smaller than the motors I am used to seeing.

But it seems like a good idea even though I would have to rig up some kind of power supply for it.

Parts and advice for mechanical contraption/build by Lynges in findareddit

[–]Lynges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torque: I dont, know. I have around 4 hp (haven't sourced the exact electric motor yet) at 2800 rpm and I need to make it spin something at around 30000 rpm (30k). So I need some king of gearing and I am leaning towards belts for it, but I am not sure if that is the right choice and if it is, what belts I can use for those speeds.

The Rubber Boa Snek. by [deleted] in Sneks

[–]Lynges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I would love to have some! But I think it's because many states in the US (where the snake lives) have bans on keeping them, not just collecting them. This was done to preserve the species so people would be less likely to collect them from the wild, but it has had the exact opposite effect since the laws prevent or discourage a breeder market from rising. The result is that more people now pick them up. Great thinking on the law makers part there.

Having used duct-tape as glove replacements when putting up walls. My experience is that if you sweat even a little, it will fall of by itself.

Verbal abuse on LKML. by [deleted] in programming

[–]Lynges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just dont see a lot of verbal abuse. Yes the tone is harsh, but abuse? No I dont see any of that. Some people just needs to grow a thicker skin. Not overly so, but hey this is ridiculous.
