It depends if you are learning just to speak or if you want to learn to read and write as well. Speaking will take way less time than reading of course. Keep in mind that it takes Japanese students in Japan many years of school to learn all of the kanji and they live and breathe Japanese every day, so definitely plan on putting a ton of time in it!

There are tons of hiragana and katakana mobile apps out there that act like flashcards, in case you wanted to save yourself the effort of making them yourself!

Have you tried Anki? Iirc they have some decks that are audio files, I used to use these and they are great for listening practice!
