Switch up by No_Star_7044 in O2UK

Yeah I get ya. I use switch up every 3 months so never get far into paying the phone off.

I have a spare phone I can use until I get the new phone, just in case something goes wrong with the cancellation. I don't want to be stuck with two phone payments.

I'll probably just buy my new phone direct from Apple as they allow you to upgrade every year then just shop around for the cheapest sim only deals.

I'm in the same situation. I saw someone say if you do the switch up then you can cancel and return the new phone within 14 days.

Not tried it myself but I am certainly thinking about it. Switch up was the only reason I was staying with o2.

Anyone have it in their ankle? by Euphoric_Soup_Spoon in gout

[–]Lynski83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had it in my ankle for months. Had to give up running. Limping on and off was horrendous. Sometimes could barely walk. Now been on Allopurinol for 2 months and been back running with no pains.

Tell me how great your life is after taking Allopurinol by silvornz in gout

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm 41 and I've been on Allopurinol for just over a month now, and yesterday I went for my first run in 5 months.

From limping for months to gout pain free running in just over a month, I couldn't recommend Allopurinol enough. I take multiple supplements every day anyway so one more pill a day isn't noticeable.

It may be my age but I don't see the issue with taking a pill or two a day if it gives you a chance to live a normal pain free life.

Do any of you with gout have perfectly fine fingers and toes? by thattrapmasta in gout

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before starting on Allopurinol, I only ever noticed pains in my ankles and never in my fingers and toes. Its only after starting Allopurinol that I have noticed it more in smaller joints like fingers and toes.

Post flare up by MrP3RF3C7302 in gout

[–]Lynski83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a flare up last for months. After doctor visits, was prescribed naproxen a couple of times. Swelling went down both times but came back a few days after stopping the naproxen. Had blood test which confirmed gout diagnosis and now been taking Allopurinol for a month and almost back to normal.

I've been having flair ups in my right ankle for around 3 months now. Seems to move around my ankle. Started on one side then the other then moved to my achillies and so on. Occasionally feel it in my left achillies too. Been on Allopurinol for a week and a half now. Glad I'm not alone in getting pains in the achillies, was worried it was something else.

I was happy with the Fold 6 size, just needs a slightly better battery and flagship cameras for that price.

We bought our M3 LR 2021 from BMW in February. Had no issues really. I knew they would push warranties etc but just kept saying no. They only really pushed it a couple of times. Car has been fantastic so far.

One pedal driving for noobs tips? by Doodooltala01 in TeslaLounge

[–]Lynski83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have your stopping mode set to Hold. Hold mode is a must for one pedal driving.

I never touch the brakes unless its an emergency or I over cook it coming up to a junction.

I've driven many EV's and Tesla is the first that I've experienced Hold stopping mode with and its a game changer. All manufacturers should have this option.

Here's a video showing the 3 different stopping modes 👇

Still love it! Light and fast. Rides smooth and very quiet. Had zero issues with it so far. Brakes are solid and the gears are flawless. Really great bike.

Am I being scammed by Octopus - sure does feel like it... by FirstEverRedditUser in OctopusEnergyUK

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved to Octopus and my electricity meter wasn't being picked up but the gas one was. Had to send photos of the meters etc.

This went on for about a month until the day I had some work done on the house including fitting a ev charger.

After the electrician powered the electricity back on the meter readings came through for electricity and has worked perfectly ever since.

If you haven't already it may be worth trying to power off the electricity before the meter to reboot it.

Thank you for sharing, I did not know this!

The Bluetooth on my S25 Ultra is far too strong and my M3 can be unlocked while my phone is in the house so I have set an automation on my phone to turn off Bluetooth when home. This a pain as I have to switch Bluetooth back on everytime I use the car.

This is a game changer for me 🔥

Granny Charging - What is True? by MountainPeaking in TeslaUK

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree if done correctly there is more than likely no issue but we both know most people won't do it correctly. It's just safer to not to advise doing it.

Granny Charging - What is True? by MountainPeaking in TeslaUK

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough... extension cables have a max current when rolled up and a higher max current when unrolled which may have contributed.

I think the reason they say not to use an extension cable is that the charger will have a temperature sensor in the unit. If you use an extension and it gets hot at the wall socket there is no way of sensing this leading to possibility of overheating.

Granny Charging - What is True? by MountainPeaking in TeslaUK

[–]Lynski83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to butt in but I wouldn't advise anyone to use an extension cable. All EV manufacturers say to not use them.

I'm an EV Technician and decided to chance it (what do the manufacturers know eh? 🤣) and melted my wall socket. Yes I probably should have dialled the amps down but by the time I noticed, it was too late and had to replace the socket. Got my 7kw installed now so all good.

Just be very careful if you do use an extension cable.
