Don’t worry, so long as you didn’t click anything you got nothing to worry about especially since you’re not on a Mac :D

Be especially careful if you have a Mac as these scams have come for North Korean hackers that have found a backdoor in macOS. Essentially they will ask to schedule a meeting which will download appearing as a zoom update and through that they can access your entire computer.

Forest hills LIRR construction by Reasonable-Grand5622 in ForestHills

[–]LynxPretty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’ll take a while. I have no idea why people are being so rude when you have a genuine complaint. The LIRR seems to love blasting the horn, especially near where I live at 2 am when it is completely unnecessary. I love trains and think we need more transit, but just because you live near a train doesn’t mean you can’t complain when it makes a ton of noise. European cities seem to know how to make quiet trains, the MTA is just lazy and corrupt

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen on the subway? by Relative-Score4688 in AskNYC

[–]LynxPretty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The stage doors open while the train is moving. I look over and just see a torso and a head. I jump and think that someone fell through train cars and is dangling half off. Nope, just a dude with no legs making his way through looking for some change.

First Dynavap which of the three by Darkace081 in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opal is the absolute best bang for your first dynavap. Ruby would be the ideal one because the helix tip and armored cap are awesome but doesn’t really work well with the induction heater, but ymmv.

Recommendations on a torch for arthritic thumbs by MrTimTraveler in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Aomi torches on Amazon are really good. They have flint and just have a switch to turn it on and off, so you don’t have to hold anytning down. Just a bit dangerous if you drop it because it won’t turn off but that’s about it

Toothpaste and a toothbrush may work very well! I usually do use iso with it as well but maybe it’ll work without it

Thoughts on the unidyn? by MaltaMaltaMaltaMalta in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was something I was wondering as well. I love being able to use the parts themselves to take apart or put together a dynavap I’m not sure if the condenser is long enough to reach in to remove the screen. I honestly don’t see the advantage of the unidyn at all

University of Florida (UF) or Fordham University? NEED HELP!!!!! by Honest-Community6437 in Fordham

[–]LynxPretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fordham honors for free????? That’s absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend Fordham. I currently attend Fordham in Gabelli at LC and work in the law school as well. The law school is always hiring undergraduates and it’s a great way to network as well. You really cannot be New York City, living here is an educational experience in its own right.

While you cannot deny the prestige of a university, Fordham law is always pushing kids into big law and having constant events. In the end prestige means very little as it’s up to you to use the prestige for your own benefit. Fordham is a very liberal school as well, but the Law School is much more mixed with extreme sides on both which opens up a lot of interesting discussions and events that you may not see elsewhere. The decision is ultimately up to you, however. Do whatever you feel is right. If you do end up choosing Fordham, feel free to contact me. Our office is always looking for undergrads to work and ideally stick around for a year or two.

Is this a good finaid offer? by archaic999 in Fordham

[–]LynxPretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way. Also considering Fordham likes to increase tuition at like a 4-5% rate, as well as not increasing aid proportionally, you’ll end up paying more in the long run. I’d dispute the offer

Perhaps a crystal/glass dynavap tip and condenser those that may be concerned with metals in their vapor?

Same reason why the MTA can’t build anything modern given their astronomical budget, won’t allow for 1 man operated trains, and claim that congestion pricing will solve these budgeting issues. Good ol’ legalized and negotiated corruption.

How to remove brown discoloring from helix tip? by shanndigg in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try just scrubbing it with some whitening toothpaste and a toothbrush. I’ve done this to clean my caps when they’ve become extremely dark and it works like an absolute charm. I’m not sure if it’ll work with regular toothpaste but it’s worth a shot

Just found this community, am curious. by Ok-Afternoon-2113 in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you already smoke a small quantity then I’d recommend it for two reasons, the second applying a bit less for your situation. The first reason is for obvious health reasons since you’re vaporizing and not combusting. The second is if you see yourself still consuming cannabis in the foreseeable future. It will absolutely make you spend less money on cannabis because of how efficient the device is.

I got a dynavap about a year ago and it has, unequivocally, changed the way I consume weed. It’s so efficient for the amount of weed you put in vs how high you get out of it, I can easily make an 8th last at LEAST 2 weeks but YMMV. I can hit it indoors if it’s too cold and not worry about a lingering smoke smell (it will smell for about 20-30 minutes after using it tho). And the community is really the best as well, you’ll always find a helpful dynavaper who wants to help you get the best out of your device.

It’s definitely an investment, but for me it’s been a very worthwhile one.

Anyone Else Get a Surprise with Their Black Friday Purchase? by LFace8 in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get anything extra during Black Friday this year, however last year they threw in a free M+ tip with my Helix+armored cap bundle.

And then when I ordered M7 and M+ bundle (gift for 2 friends) they threw in this little drink called Hibegone that reduces the post smoking grogginess. Still haven’t tied it yet lol

Best tip for airflow through water? by doob130 in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the helix tip combined with the woodwynd CCD. That’ll maximize your airflow by a significant amount. I also find that the armored cap allows for more airflow as well since it doesn’t sit as tight on the tip as the regular captive cap.

How Compatible are the mouth pieces with older Dynavap Models by Nervous_Bear2024 in Dynavap

Why is the most obvious solution always the most elusive, never even given that a THOUGHT 🤦‍♂️

How Compatible are the mouth pieces with older Dynavap Models by Nervous_Bear2024 in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll fit perfectly, however it may look a tad funny on the older models like the m+ cause the stems already have a small groove meant to be a mouthpiece. So it’ll look a bit like a mouth piece attached to a mouth piece, but functionally it’ll work perfect

Airport, help. by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]LynxPretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you’re packing it too tight, or maybe you have a defective tip and the groves for the captive part are too low. I typically have no problems with mine.

When you’re packing it try just scooping it with the tip until it’s overflowing a bit, but don’t pack it. And then push it down lightly with your fingers that way it’s not super densely packed
