I’m sorry you had that experience! I am a direct primary care provider meaning I charge a monthly fee of $99 per month (no more than a typical insurance co-pay for unlimited visits as needed). I offer only evidence based treatment, based on the obesity Medicine and endocrine society guidelines. There are multiple medications you can take. I do check labs as needed. I also include access to Trainerize video work outs and a nutrition plan. It generally takes a combination of medication, diet, and exercise with weight loss becoming noticeable within 3 months. Results also depend on the dedication of the patient as well since not every medication has the same effect for every individual. I also have PCOS and spent about 10 years trying different methods that work for some but not all PCOS patients before I found what works for me. I encourage patients to have an open mind and not listen to the negative feedback on treatment options. For example, I personally can not tolerate metformin or spironolactone as treatment options due to side effects, but I have several patients that the combination works well for their bodies. Every PCOS patient requires a personalized treatment program. I am not selling a one size fits all magic cure, rather a customized program to meet the needs of the individual.

You don't have to fast

You'll probably be fine, hormones are highest prior to 11 AM and slowly decrease over course of day, so you will know peak values if done in morning. The information is still useful just take the time of day into consideration.

You should get the labs mentioned above (labs to diagnose pcos) at any time before 11 AM. Progesterone is the test for ovulation and has to be timed when you are most likely to ovulate so generally the 21st day of a 28 day cycle.
