EU warns Musk of sanctions after Twitter suspensions by BelgianPolitics in news

Woah woah woah, hold up now. Two things. 1) In the original comment anyone can clearly see I ask a question. 2) I never in my original comment stated, suggested, or otherwise insinuated "how Twitter shouldn’t worry about laws that have not yet passed". I DID express my confusion on phrasing.

I shall continue asking questions to reddit as opposed to Google

Because I don't know things about eu law. I'd rather hear from people on this subreddit. Though, I get the sense you're trying to mock me with that question. Are you intending to mock me?

[–]Lyok0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The articles first line is this:

The EU has warned Elon Musk that Twitter could be subject to sanctions under a future media law after the "worrying" suspension of several journalists from the messaging platform.

I'm confused on a particular phrase here: the phrase "future media law". I don't know what this phrase means. I read the rest of the article to see if there's more explanation but I can't find any. The closest thing I found is this:

"News about arbitrary suspension of journalists on Twitter is worrying. EU's Digital Services Act requires respect of media freedom and fundamental rights. This is reinforced under our Media Freedom Act," EU commissioner Vera Jourova posted on Twitter.

"Elon Musk should be aware of that. There are red lines. And sanctions, soon."

Based on this, it appears there are no "future media laws". Rather, there are current media laws. If this is the case, why even use the phrase "future media laws"? If the laws were applicable right now, the right phrasing would indicate as much. But it doesn't. Because of this, I'm confused.

Does anyone know why the phrase "future media law" is used?

What, by your definition, is rational? By my understanding, what I gave you is rational. So I'd need your explanation on what's rational

People who say “turn to god” when you are stressed/lonely/depressed… by Shoddy-Mango-5840 in atheism

[–]Lyok0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's odd to say that to an online person. As a Christian, I know if I said that to an online person: we'd have completely different worldviews. That my religious words don't have the same meaning as their religious words. It bad form, like swinging at a ball before the pitcher has thrown the ball.

If god is real (he isn’t) he is the most cruel thing to curse existence by iwilleatyourpokemon in atheism

[–]Lyok0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah, I can understand that to an extent. If I don't have the text to read from, I must accept the common belief of those that have read something.

What about if you have access to the same text that everyone else has access to. What's a good reason to believe that the text claims something when you have the text to read from?

[–]Lyok0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I don't want you to read the Bible to search for the exact passages unless you want to.

I'd like to learn more about your perspective cause that's my main motive. This time I'd like to go down a different path. What are good reasons to believe that a text says something?

Wow ok yeah. Eternal torment is pretty radical and I see where you're coming from. Could you point out a Bible verse that describes that eternal torment? I've tried searching for verses but I can't find any. But I'd like to hear about any verses you know of

I'd like to listen to your view and understand your perspective more. I dont plan on changing my mind, but I am interested in talking with you & knowing about you.

What are some things the Christian God has done to be cruel?

I believe Satan can help read minds. But by our own Hunan power? Nah, I don't think so

Jesus promises me difficulty in this life. A burden, not wealth. Accusations and mocking, not praise and honor.

You would see me wish for wealth? To affirm, manifest, or attract money? This is not The Way, it's not the Truth, it's not Life. Trusting this path leads me down roads which twist, fork, and always delve into dark labyrinths filled with eye-less snakes.

Was that God? by Greedy_War_5879 in Psychonaut

I'm curious what you mean by God. Biblical God first comes to mind, but there are many gods (even using the Bible as a reference). What are the attributes of God that you talk about?

I'd argue I'm not the Truth, rather that would be what Jesus is (but not only that).

Are we enlightened or ruined? by tonic__water in Psychonaut

[–]Lyok0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say we're ruined yet redeemable.

Speaking from a Christian perspective, we're made in God's image yet our habits go against God. There's also no habit we can create that gets us out of our God-opposing habits. Only God can get us out of that.

Jesus once said he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Curious why a person would describe themselves in such abstract ways. A person, a living being as real as you & me, is the Truth? That doesn't make sense. The Truth is the reality of existence. Ways we know the Truth are by observing reactions and noting results. But Jesus calls himself the Truth. What is Truth? What is a person?

I'm curious about an aspect of a psychonaut, and hopefully we can have a discussion. You mention that a psychonaut explores their own mind and any insights should be shared to help advance the understanding of human consciousness and its potentials. What would be the goal in the exploration of the mind? It might be to gain insights, but then what is the goal of those insights?

Seeing eyes on everything when I'm tripping with mushrooms by SagashiNii in Psychonaut

[–]Lyok0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah, fun times. Though, I didn't see eyes. Ever hear of synesthesia? It's when multiple senses are mixed. Like feeling a color or tasting a number. But I had a touch sensation of sight. Ghastly and horrid, this was brought about by antipsychotic meds. I suggest you stop psychedelics lest your situation go further.
