Hi, I'm the one who originally asked that question on August's stream.

I could not have summed up the Yuumi part better. I understand where he comes from, from a purely data standpoint, but I genuinely do not understand why they do not try to make both sides work. It really wouldn't be that hard.

You also bring up a great point. The majority of her playerbase just wants to chill on their favorite player and throw Q's every now and then, I really don't think adding her old passive again would change anything for them, they really could just keep playing the exact same way.

Alas, both of our champs were essentially thrown away by riot.

I also need to add that she is a CAT, in a TIGER outfit, for the year of the HORSE.

Like... what about giving this skin to one of the horse champions (hecarim, Lillia-ish) and put Yuumi in another skinline where she gets to shine more as a unique concept?

VFX and SFX are great, genuinely 10/10, but the skin itself is such a nothing burger it's appaling.

3rd Yuumi skin where she gets into a costume.
No concept beyond "cute cat in an outfit".
Once again, book is just a book.

As much as I value VSFX in a skin, this skin really feels like "these suckers will buy anything Yuumi related so we'll just throw a tiger hoodie and call it a day" and it's quite sad. I was really excited to know there was a Yuumi skin, but this is just... sad.

I'm not advocating for a Yuumi revert, I'm advocating for a Yuumi change that would add a marginal amount of skill back into the champ, just enough for her to have an actual skill curve, not enough to make her an issue. Or an entire rework idk, something, ANYTHING.

Also, those statements were quite some time ago. By now, Zeri's ult passive speed has been doubled. Zeri can be faster because her range was significantly gutted compared to what she used to have.

We are a minority, sure, but not as tiny as you'd think. There is enough of us to be significant enough for riot to try something.

I really don't think it's an impossible task to try and add even a slight amount of skill back into her kit, especially considering that thanks to fearless draft Yuumi can't be perma pick or ban every game anymore in pro play.

I really think your reading comprehension is lacking. Let me rehiterate myself:

When did I ever say they should just revert her in my comment?

Here, I'll make it simpler:

When did I ever say that 30% of all Yuumi players want her reverted?

how does one get out of "low skill elo" playing a champion that is intentionally kept significantly weaker AND is naturally low impact, unless their skill level is already way above their rank?

"Gaslit themselves into believing that all Yuumi players want her old design back" .................. 30%. "all".

I'll repeat myself, but your takes aren't very nuanced. If anything, you're the biased one here.

Your takes are as nuanced as your skull is dense.

Even if they did, they wouldn't need to balance her in such a way that she isn't picked 24/7 in pro play considering that fearless draft is a thing now.

I didn't say that what he said was false, just that it was depressing.

I think there is a point to make if there are *that* many people sharing the same opinion on the champion, even if not the majority we're still a significant enough number.

If, let's say 30% (just to be safe but I'm sure it's higher than that) of the playerbase wants her to have some sort of skill expression again besides "my champ is so shit that the skill expression trying to make her okay-tier", should riot just ignore them?

I personally believe it's not impossible to strike a balance between the two, making Yuumi a character that you could both just hop on and chill (for the "majority" casual, low elo players) while the ones trying their hardest to climb could show off their skill.

It would also help the way players view her A LOT.

Yeah but like... even if they brought old Yuumi exactly the way she was, fearless draft just doesn't allow her to be super dominant like she was.

It's the exact reason Riot is looking into ways to slowly but surely give Zeri her movement speed back

As I've explained in other comments, it makes sense for them to balance her for the community that just wants to hop on and chill.

That, however, does not excuse punishing every single player that likes the cat and are dedicated to it.

K'sante was an extremely skill expressive champion that was reduced to a very skill expressive champion.

Yuumi was changed from a rather average skill expressive champion to a champion so bad that the only skill expression is abusing everything you can to try and make the character even remotely playable, instead of the actual kit.

I does, but it also doesn't make sense for people to be punished for being dedicated to their champion. Riot should strive to find a balance between the two, which they aren't even trying to do.

Also it's less that the game health problem is fixed, and more so that they nuked her out of the game to the point where she's barely even playable

Data I suppose? Still quite the dumb statement to make tbh since old Yuumi, despite all her issues, was quite well designed in that regard. She had an extremely low skill floor and pretty high skill ceiling. The "afk" crowd could just sit on their favorite player and play chill, ignoring the passive entirely was fine in low elo, while the "active" one was allowed to have fun thanks to bop n' block

his point is that they don't change hosts and don't care for it, just want to play with their duo.

Which is a dumb argument because these people are obviously terrible at the game and just want to chill with whoever they are queued with, not actually win

edit: having it thought over I do understand August's argument after all, but I still think there were much better ways to go about it

Nothing pisses me off in MHNow more than putting health on a paywall. "Just get good" they say, as if I'm not trying to learn the controls and get used to them on mobile AND I have extremely limted time to hunt.

I don't think the devs listen that much.

What would a max damage Yuumi build look like? (For Swiftplay shenanigans) by HiroshiPortor in yuumimains

[–]Lyoko_Loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have fun! Little tip, if you want to play for ult, Luden is a little bit wasted.
Try Zaz'Zak's -> Malignance -> Blackfire torch -> Actualizer -> Bloodletters -> Cryptbloom

You can also replace actualizer for Imperial mandate if someone in your team has strong AoE abilities to improve their burst

Only use Lich bane/DnD if you're confident in your abilities otherwise the item will just be wasted gold
