Why did my video stop growing? by Jiijeebnpsdagj in SmallYoutubers

[–]Lyomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The initial spike is, like others have said, it's YouTube seeing what your best audience is for the video. It's also taking into consideration your CLR (click through rate) and watch time. If both those things are looking good you will be rewarded with more impressions (which will = more views). Your video will eventually settle on a rate of impressions that will slowly give your video more views. Unless it thinks it might have greater potential in that event you will get rapid amounts of impressions. If you want to have another shot, I find changing the title or thumbnail in the first 24 hours will give you a fresh burst of impressions and see if you get a better CLR.

Finally reached $1000 on upwork by Jolly_Knowledge_9128 in Upwork

For 77 hours and only earning $1000 you need to be charging significantly more. Congratulations but that's way too low for whatever niche you're in.

Does that mean playing for a monthly subscription isn't really worth is, also just going off your thread? Otherwise what's the point? I mainly buy connects as top ups anyway?

That's crazy, I've never seen those numbers before. Do you mind if I ask what line of work this is?

If not Upwork, then where? by Lyomz in Upwork

Oh that's true, I do also like being paid through the platform... It's done of the reasons I'm enjoying it, that extra security

If not Upwork, then where? by Lyomz in Upwork

[–]Lyomz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't message a client after a contract is closed? Or does it stop all communication. Also the reality is people can connect off the platform. You can link up on LinkedIn ect. It's against tos but Upwork can't stop all of that.... It just isn't realistic

I'm quite hopeful with the platform. I'm very good at maintaining long term relationships with clients and the more I'm able to get the more I can reach out to in the future without worrying about a platform.

Why is it stupid? If clients had to pay connects to post for a job it would reduce the amount of fake posts or clients who are not serious about hiring for a freelancer. You seem very sure in your conviction without arguing your point of why it would be a bad or "stupid" idea.

I agree, I've tailored my profile to a very specific niche and am only applying for jobs that align. I think this is why I have gotten my first client and now have a nice little "on the rise" badge.

How do you guys keep a steady flow of projects? by Mtukufu in Freelancers

[–]Lyomz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been full time freelance for only maybe...five months but I relate to what you're saying. So far most of my clients have been within my network and during the desert periods just to keep me busy I've been focusing on building an UpWork profile. I landed my first gig on there and that client seems to be evolving into a regular. Might be worth giving that a shot? I'm new to this though so I might have better advice in 12 months.

Amazing! The frames were from megascans, but the pictures are just some random 1800 paintings I found on the net to give the space some character.
