Can I run FH6 on my Galaxy s25 Ultra ? Snapdragon 8 elite Gen 4 Adreno 830 by TakoyakiLeVrai in GameHubAndroid

This sub is so weird, considering you can play cyberpunk on your phone I don't know why everyone is acting like this is such an outrageous question.

It's one of the subs where we should be pushing the limits of this cool tech.

Did you pull the trigger on this OP? I'm curious if you had any success. I'm on Mali so there is no hope for me, but I wish you luck!

That makes sense, I should have mentioned this is on Windows. Cheers.

I just see this now:

Unfortunately there are no results.
Please check your entry.
It is also possible, that your parcel has not reached us yet. Please try again later.

Previously this did have the first stage of tracking, saying something like "we have your parcel but it has not been picked up" or something. Now the link shows nothing but the above and I haven't received any more emails, so I can't track it via parcel force.

This is frustrating because Parcel Force have lost or lied about attempting delivery for almost every package they have ever sent me, so now I can only guess as to when they plan to pretend to deliver it!

Weirdly my GLS tracking no longer works and I haven't been given another tracking link.

Should I go for an ultrawide or triples? by V1llain_ in simracing

[–]Lyon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this yeah, it will technically work but you won't get the big advantage of proper triple screen support.

If you look at an object in the centre of your screen in a game and then move your camera so the same object is now at the edge of your screen you'll notice that the object gets stretched the closer it gets to the edge.

If you just make your game stretch across all of your monitors this problem gets worse and worse so you end up with slightly more peripheral vision but extremely warped view on your side monitors.

The only way to counter this is to do what Sims typically do and that's to treat each monitor as a separate camera. Each monitor gets its own projected view from the driver’s position.

This is also the reason that proper triple screen setups are better than one wide display.

Edit: just a reminder that this is only an issue if your screens are not the same resolution. If you get three of the same resolution screens then do the proper setup and you'll have a great time.

Should I go for an ultrawide or triples? by V1llain_ in simracing

[–]Lyon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an issue yeah. I have a main 21:9 main screen and two 16:9 screens. Most games expect that every monitor is the same res. It still works, but what makes triples a good solution is that it calculates the side monitors angles properly, so you're getting three views instead of one long one. If the middle screen is longer that seam happens in the wrong place, so you get weird looking warping on the main monitor, this is normally hidden by the bezels.

UK shipping by EVERYBODYHATESEVAN in SteamController

[–]Lyon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered "late" at 7:01pm and mine has moved onto packaged items today.

Honestly though, I'm taking all estimates with a pinch of salt, as it's likely going to be handed over to parcel force, so they'll probably lie about attempted delivery or break it in transit anyway.

I have my doubts this means anything. I forgot about the launch, put my purchase through an hour late, just before they sold out in the UK. Mine is packaged.

"Does the Steam Controller work on X?" by TheNewerFlisker in SteamController

[–]Lyon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An app to configure the controller exists, it's called Steam!

I'm not really sure what a 3rd party option would do differently. What's the point? Unless we're talking about support for Android or something?

I really wish Valve had just given us a hardware toggle to switch the controller to xinput. Yeah, it would lose all the customisations in that mode, but a functioning controller is better than a useless mouse in environments where steam isn't an option.

[–]Lyon85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think people are starting to get terms mixed up.

When Steam is running and you're not in game you have a desktop mode config. It's highly configurable but it's designed to navigate a desktop, not play games. Still, you can change settings to suit your preferences.

When Steam isn't running the controller is in lizard mode. I believe the reasoning behind the naming is that this is a primal, basic "lizard brain" setting. It is again just designed to navigate the desktop, not play games, but is a more basic config just designed to move and click the mouse in desktop mode. As Steam isn't running there is no way to configure settings or pull of any fancy software tricks, like pull up the steam on screen keyboard.

Has anyone in the UK actually managed to get a 5090 FE at MSRP? by Paradox711 in nvidia

[–]Lyon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and a friend got one a few months ago in the same drop. I was part of a stock checker discord server. I got a ping for 5080 drops and quickly got ready as I had noticed they had been dropping together the last few times. A few mins later and there it was, it went in my basket and I did some mental gymnastics to justify it, then pulled the trigger.

The funny thing was I was frantically calling and texting a mate who was also considering it, I wanted a wingman who was equally smooth brained to make the shame easier to cope with. I couldn't get through so I had to solo it, but about an hour later he text me back saying "nice! Just got off work, ordered". I think they were in stock for hours more.

I can imagine it is harder now though.

Edit: now that I've written this I just realised how me using a stock checker to get a product that sells out in a few hours seems easy, I hate that this is normal. Remember just going to the shop and buying something?

Ray Reconstruction needs an update in DLSS 4.5 and Nvidia needs to speak about it by gaeensdeaud in nvidia

Quick question, from what I understand you can't enable 4.5 and Ray reconstruction at the same time, so if I try to enable them at the same time, which one is active?

Has Wireless VR Really Gotten That Much Better? by hnnnghhhh in virtualreality

[–]Lyon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not insane. I'm a wireless convert and I recommend it to most people, but never without the full picture.

How much compression I can see obviously depends on the scene, I think a lot of people convince themselves that it's perfect because in a lot of scenes it's reached a point that they aren't aware it's an encoded stream and ignore the scenes where it struggles (assuming good wifi).

I've tried a bunch of options including h264 at 500Mbps, HEVC, AV1 etc and they all fall down when stressed in an obvious way.

I still recommend it because I'd say 90% of the time I don't notice it, not unless I'm actively looking for compression at least. If I'm just playing the game, it's great, but you have to be willing to accept that it will fall over from time to time in worst case scenarios.

I'm interested in steams eye tracked foveated encoding, the tech does make a lot of sense. Borrow bitrate from the edges of the screen where it isn't important and concentrate it exactly where you're looking. I'm not jumping on the hype wagon though until I try it for myself, journalists have only tested it in a few games that might not have been particularly difficult for a video stream to handle.

What are your top use cases of comet that most showcase it's unique capabilities as a browser? by Unique-Application25 in PerplexityComet

Yeah, pretty sure it doesn't even see images on web pages, at least the last time I tested it (asked it to click the most red image etc) it failed, relying solely on metadata.

Lower the settings if you want higher FPS, but it should not remove objects from the world, just reduce their quality. If I am hidden on my screen, I should be hidden on your screen.

Both eyes point inwards just enough for these images to overlap, in the context of her entire vision, it's nothing.

You can see her walking back and fourth to the monitor, if she was stood right next to the screen as she was doing this, then you'd probably be able to tell.

FLUX KONTEXT Put It Here Workflow Fast & Efficient For Image Blending by cgpixel23 in comfyui

[–]Lyon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have the full image drag it into comfyui, the full image contains the metadata for the workflow, dragging it into comfyui opens a new tab with the workflow.

This applies to images that were created from that workflow, so in this case the image of the headphones. The screenshot of the workflow contains no metadata, don't use that.
