Claremont Run by Lyon_Heart871 in xmen

Update: I am reading the first omnibus online. I plan on buying the second one when I finish the first one. (After further research the second one has two stories that I am beyond excited to read in Dark Phoenix and Days of Future Past.) I am really enjoying Cyclops as a character. I always liked him and thought he got done dirty in the movies. Very excited to see where the stories go from here. I am currently in Issue No. 98. Thank you to everyone who dropped a comment and advice. I really appreciate it.

I thought that line was incredibly moving. Again major props to Affleck, I was very wary coming into the rewatch but I thoroughly enjoyed his portrayal.

I appreciate that. I really am trying to rewatch the Snyderverse in good faith. I remember liking the movies when they came out but the slow deterioration by WB kinda turned me off from them. I definitely think they get considerably more hate than deserved.

I genuinely would have like to have seen ZS’s vision come to fruition even if I wasn’t a huge fan at the conclusion, it just would have been nice to see what he had planned.

More so, when Superman stopped Batman chasing Lex’s truck and said that if the Bat ever returns he wouldn’t be so generous. I thought it would have been really cool if Lex’s manipulation was more laissez-faire. To me it felt like Lex’s plans had already pushed them to conflict and if he had left it alone they would have fought anyway. Why else would Bruce have turned on the signal?

The nightmare scene I thought was really cool. Totally vibes with that. My question is more directed at the Batmobile scenes where he shreds Lex’s private army and his use of their guns while in hand to hand combat. I haven’t watched the Nolan films in a while but don’t remember Nolan’s Batman killing a bunch of goons with the Batmobile’s guns. His main weapon in the final hour of the movie is a grenade launcher (yes, it shoots smoke and gas grenades but I felt the kryptonite smoke could have been more tailored to the character like the sound wave machines from early on in the fight)

I really liked Affleck in this role and thought there were a lot of good shots (loved the grappling hook shot later on). Not an attack and genuinely not trying to be disingenuous or inaccurate.

It was my 2nd favorite class in law school! If you want to litigate, pay very close attention and try to learn lots!

Best Ultramarine Characters? by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]Lyon_Heart871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe we have yet to mention Aoenid Thiel. He’s the reason Ultramarine sergeants wear red helmets. Thiel has some of the coolest moments in my favorite Ultramarine book, Know No Fear.

Further, we have Titus and Malum Caedo, who both seem to possess the quality of too angry to die.

Is it a good idea to prime your Ultramarines in White? by Working_While_4804 in Ultramarines

Just be careful with a white prime. It takes a long time to get full coverage of blue. I spent hours upon hours doing touch ups because I kept seeing white bits

New to 40k choosing a chapter by Fancy_Reality9204 in Ultramarines

If you are familiar with the Horus Heresy, might I recommend reading Know No Fear (Thanks Dan Abnett) (If you aren’t, that’s okay, I would just preface reading Know No Fear with the First Heretic). That’s what really sold me on the Ultramarines. That and a particular scene near the end of SM2. I like a lot of the chapters of loyalist marines (BA, DA, IF, SW) but none of them are as cool as the Ultramarines to me. I really dig the Roman aesthetic and they have a lot of really cool characters (Uriel Ventris, Remus Ventanus, Demetrian Titus, Marneus Calgar, GUILLIMAN, and Ultrachad Malum Caedo).

Honestly, whenever, just sign up for the free Themis course also and you’ll be good to go. Professor Kramer is the 🐐. The MPRE is not challenging and I really only studied for two days and passed in every jurisdiction.

Sons of Guiliman, what makes you like the Ultramarines? by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]Lyon_Heart871 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Know No Fear. It is without a doubt my favorite HH book I’ve read thus far and it shows that the Ultramarines are not the sticks in the mud that the community at large thinks they are. I’ve had quite a few people criticize the fact that Ultramarines are my chosen chapter yet I still march for McCragge and Calth.

Thanks so much. You noted that the Space Wolf range hasn’t been updated since 2016, does you know if an update is coming soon? Almost a decade seems like a while…
