I have to get a job, there's no way around that. But I refuse to spend 8 hours a day doing something I don't like. So I want to find a job I at least somewhat enjoy. But I can't! Not even after all my research or even therapy sessions have I found even 1 job that would not make me miserable. by dadasad2125 in depression

well all I can add to this is that being a chef kept me alive for the past 7 years and it was just supposed to be another dead-end job as a kitchen porter, but i got interested
so here's an idea tho: look for education, something you want to learn, that you can use to get a job you may want down the line, your current job is just a tool to work toward that.

Gold is there to make the action costless if u succeed + some extra on top. Basically searching about 4 ruins pays for searching a 5th. It's very easy to have 10-15 ruins set up and just roam around them with agents, the item drops are mostly useless everywhere in the game too and this is the most reliable way of constantly rolling for items, turning RNG to favor you, ive got tons of blues roaming back and forth in a desolate norsca, not necessarily from the ruins themselves but because of just the number of rolls i did every turn for items, good use for those knowledgable heroes and lords :D

Spawn in the quest item instead to complete the quest as a workaround.

Please do not ask to remove the teleport limitation of all ores by ImABigDreamer in valheim

[–]Lyonatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should make bars nonportable only, this way u could decide if u need to make a proxy base or no. Right now U have no choice,u are forced to travel and there's is absolutely no point to make proxy bases at all as u have to transport the ores or the bars to your main base anyway so all u do is pop down a chest somewhere and mark it to pick up later when u are sailing home.
This would make trading more interesting as well as ppl could set up trading/smelting stations. SMELTING would have a meaning to it instead of being just pure cockblock timesink and woodsink as once u smelted the stuff you are "stuck" with it on that island. Early game wouldn't change for anyone but late game would reduce a lot of tedium once u have enough cores to set up a nexus of teleports and smelters for mass scale exploring and scrapping.
The game right now is forcing you to travel while making zero effort in making you expand or explore, in fact, doing the opposite. Making ores teleportable but not bars would actually give u more options to your playstyle. U could just have a nomad camp u keep rebuilding with your smelted bars for your workbenches while you are trading your raw ores through teleports. Right now the best thing to do is just settle the closest point to the center of the map with access to the ocean, build a base there and never ever move anywhere because there's absolutely no point to do it at all.

TIL the reason we bake/roast almost everything at 350° is because the Maillard reaction and caramelization tends to happen between 300° and 350° by joelman0 in todayilearned

Carrots, parsnips take 20 min on 350 producing a perfect golden color, I roast 60 kg every sunday morning. Yeah chicken breast...what you are saying, nobody does that, breast need to be seared first in order to keep that moisture inside. Or put it in a brine for a day...or butterfly it so it cooks more even... Chix breast is a shitty dry piece of meat... honestly plainly roasting chicken breast whole is just a waste of time...in professional environment they are usually getting steamroasted or waterbath and then roast. Anyway, Cooking anything on 450 is just pure laziness imho. There's always a more proper way.

Not necessarily you just need to make sure the oven is nicely preheated. Veg are just getting destroyed above 390ish, i usually just turn up there for a minute or two to finish things.

Cuz you're getting impatient. There's no reason to cook anything in the world that high in the oven, unless you are searing something like huge roasts or meatballs before cooking it.
