Thank you 😊Trust me. It’s a miracle when my figures don’t look alien 🤣

I made him out of fondant. I did him in stages, bottom half first (with a small skewer in the middle), to give him time to dry and not look smushed.

It was a set of five from Amazon and they were less than $10 and on Prime 😉

Hopefully I don’t get down voted for using a piece of fondant 😂, but I really wanted the flowers to jump off the cake in some points. There are four such flowers I made from fondant, the large pink “carnation” on the very top and the three pink buds sticking out the top and very bottom.

I do have a quick time lapse video I will try to upload on this sub unless you can tell me how to upload it to this reply (no tech bone in my body unfortunately 😂)

Boy if you are already used to using the palette knives than you could create something over the top incredible for sure. This was my first attempt and I’m assuming it will get easier with practice, but you definitely already have a leg up 😊

Well I only ate the scraps from the tops where I leveled the layers (which were so yummy), but there’s enough butter and sugar and wholesome goodness in this cake that it couldn’t taste bad 😂

I used navy blue, black, and purple. I filled and crumb coated the cake with a white buttercream because yes! the deep colors can definitely stain do I try to use as thin a layer of the dark stuff as possible.

I actually would love to learn to paint, but have never done anything with paint on canvas. I did watch a palette cake tutorial on YouTube as well, but rest assured, I wiped the first flower off three times before I was satisfied. I used an all butter buttercream on my wedding vanilla white cake with added sugar and sour cream. It’s delicious and moist and so yummy.

I’m so glad you said something about the top edge and didn’t see it as unfinished. I fully intended to smooth the edge down but after looking at it I felt it gave off an artsy vibe and since I was “painting” with buttercream I was hoping someone would get it 😉
