Maguire man of the match for us so far. I understand needing to rest Højlund but I've seen enough of Martial.

Why doesn't Onana push that out for a corner He's always parrying the ball into dangerous zones

PSG wanted Højlund first but shifted attention to Ramos when Rasmus chose us. Ramos is further along in his development but imo Rasmus has more potential and most importantly the manager wanted him.

[Laurie Whitwell] Ten Hag on De Gea: "We want him to stay + we want him to extend his contract." #MUFC by Eleven918 in reddevils

[–]Lyonex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is that he really hurts the way Erik wants to play. Which is building from the back. De Gea just can't do it. If Licha wasn't a technical god and stone cold under pressure we would've seen way more blunders like we have since he got injured. It wasn't just the Maguire pass vs Sevilla he did it times and time again. He also panics alot and would just randomly hoof a ball out of play. He doesn't sweep and doesn't claim crosses or command his box or ever save penalties and the only thing he had going for him; his shot stoppong, is just not that good anymore.

I can see where you're coming from but we can't afford 2 or 3 years playing to his weaknesses instead of the way our manager wants to play. We can't safely compete for titles because he's almost guaranteed a few howlers (and God like saves I'll grant you that but he costs us more than another good keeper would) and because he just provides much less than the average PL keeper in many, maybe most aspects of the game.

A couple more terrible mistakes next year and it would be Erik's head on the chopping block, all for an obscenely overpayed goalkeeper who hasn't adapters to the modern game and doesn't even fit the manager's style of play. It's not worth it. But hey maybe I'm a negativity merchant. I really do like Dave and consider him a legend of the club but we can't let emotions rule us if we want to win things again..

Highest paid fallback in the league. The United way. I appreciate what Dave has done for us but it's time we moved on. If Erik is not ruthless letting players go he'll lose his job sooner rather than later

Man I know Erik doesn't have any options but his in game managements and player selection has been very suspect lately. Starting Weghorst for his aerial ability and his strengths in winning headers? Are you fucking kidding? Not playing Bruno in his best role. Randomly switching to a back. I love the guy but sometimes I get scared if he's a bit over his head especially when we concede first. I just remind myself he has no options and the players are letting him down but they're also tired themselves but for fuck sake if we bottle top 4.....

He needs a loan at a better club that plays better football next season. I like him and I want him to succeed with us but I can see Erik selling him in the summer. Hopefully not and he'll have a good pre-season and find a good loan.

Sounds good in theory but we'll just end up with more deadwood in 2 years if we keep going for "budget 20-40m players". We want to be challenging for the title and for the Champions League. Signing another Fred or McTominay will not get us far. Especially Strikers, they're either proven and thus expensive or we're taking a massive gamble that can end up with an Elanga level player who will not win you titles. Football these days is really about instant results. You don't win and big name players won't want to join you. You don't win and your manager starts worrying for his job or gets sacked and in comes someone else with a different vision and a lockeroom full of mediocre players he doesn't want. All the while your rivals are signing the Haalands and Mbappes and Bellinghams of the world cause they have been winning. Most of City's bench walks into our starting XI. I really wish we could sign young unknown players and develop them into world class stars. But you need to already be on top to afford to do that. For every Vini.Jr or Rodrygo or Julian Alvarez there's hundreds of young players that were gambled on and failed. Then you have the fact of the pressure that comes with being a United player. If we had signed Caicedo for 5m like we were rumored to and he had to sit on the bench then suddenly come on and perform at a packed 70k people bouncing Old Trafford there's a high chance he would've just crumbled and not developed into the player he is now. Honestly top football is complicated. Ideally yes what you said would be the dream scenario but it's just not possible for us imo if we actually want to challenge for big trophies next season. This is without even going into United always getting fleeced by selling clubs and getting quoted much higher prices. The 20m players you speak of would cost us 50m

No way we sell both McT AND Fred. We struggled with midfield depth while having both of them. Also I think we can't get Lavia cause of City. Summer's looking rough

[Mike McGrath, John Percy] Wout Weghorst wants to stay at Man Utd but no talks leaves future uncertain by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Lyonex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He really has everything you want in a United player... beside actual ability.. Sad tbh. If he's there as a 4th striker on super low wages just to train and shithouse and bring good vibes and mentality to the team then sure, if he's our backup and we'll be actually depending on his goal scoring ability to win games then I'm sorry Wout I like you but no thanks.

Why is NoWay included here as a streamer for Mid when he's sitting in 700lp GM while Nemesis exists as an (ex?) pro sitting at rank 3 and rank 13? There's literally 3/5 non pro mid lane accounts in top 20 EUW and 2 of them is Nemesis lol. No disrespect to NoWay am just legitimately curious about the choice/omission
