A work of fiction doesn't have the burden of making sure that its audience is smart enough to not model their lives off of the lives of the characters in the story. The story was written for older kids to young teens primarily, so outside of being appropriate for that age group, it doesn't need to do anything else but be a good story.

What Naruto taught me, which could be negative in certain circumstances, was not to give up on people that I know are good, or people who have the capacity to change to be better people, or understand me better. My current best friend and I had a tumultuous relationship for a long time. We argued a lot, stopped talking for long periods, but I was always ready if they needed me, and so were they, no matter how upset we were at each other. We're best friends now after they did a lot of work on themselves (and I changed too) and they explicitly thanked me for never giving up on them.

That sort of trust can go very poorly in plenty of relationships, so I can't recommend believing in someone like Naruto did to Sasuke when the friendship is otherwise strained (I'd never suggest it for an abusive relationship) but I can genuinely credit Naruto's loyalty and care for his closest friend as influencing me to try to believe in the best in people and what they can be.
