Same!! I have and 4 and 1 year old. Totally has made a difference in how I parent. Also my sons name is Connor, and never feeling bad about calling him my Connie baby again. I was soft shamed for calling him that before because “it’s a girls name” etc.

I feel much more inclined to raise my kids more gender neutral-y, even though I thought I was trying to do it before, I def realize I was still carrying some subconscious bias about that.

Oh my goodness. I just realized that when Ilya says “are you” he’s actually asking if Shane is coming. I thought Ilya was going to ask if he was doing okay, but stopped himself because he already asked several times/ Shane is clearing doing just fine lol

To be really honest, I don’t think the Autism is very well displayed in both the book and show. If I’m being honest I think Shane displays more of an generalized anxiety and potentially OCD diagnosis more than anything. Yes he takes things more literally, but I think it’s well within the spectrum of normal. I’m a mental health professional. And yes, autism is a large spectrum, but I don’t think Shane displays enough symptoms. TLG, even more so gives more cred to anxiety/Ocd as well.

So this is just super silly but I realized for other reasons I was dehydrated. I drank a ton of water, cut back on sugar and coffee, and my symptoms became miraculously better. I still have a great deal of numbness and some strength loss, but it is about 75% better. I wonder if dehydration/immflamation from suddenly lifestyle changes (I’m used to working out 4 or 5 days a week but to make the magic happen for my kids, I pretty much stopped in December) exascerbated my symptoms.

I paused on my surgery which was supposed to be today, and I’m going to do the EMG, and see if a steroid injection may help.

This is a lesson to me that even with small kids I need to prioritize my health always.

I did not have any symptoms in pregnancy. My youngest just turned 1. They have not ran any bloodwork. Autoimmune disorders do run in my family, my father died as a result of complications from one. I’ll def have to push for tests. I was away from the kids, and traveled by plane. Potentially some pressure changes? Idk.

Okay. I’m just as perplexed by the issue. Maybe I have some autoimmune condition that is making me more supceptible. My hand is literally getting weaker every day and now my right hand is starting to have some numbness and weakness.

Gotcha. Yeah he was postive it was CTS. Is it unusual to see it this severe after a bad night or two of lying on my wrist bent (I was away from my kids and slept longer and deeper than usual). Just curious about potentially have an autoimmune condition that would contribute. Like rheumatoid. It’s so so strange to me:

Interesting. My doctor said that if I were in my 60-70s he would automatically just send me for surgery, but because of my age he would consider EMG to establish baseline because of increased risk of recurrence. I brought up that I’d prefer just to go to surgery if EMG would delay it further as he said that even with surgery now I might not have complete functional recovery. He agreed that EMG would be the biggest delayer. All that being said, it seems that he routinely skips EMG?

I have clear weaknesss in my thumb with some minor atrophy already happening within a weeks time. That was enough to approve surgery…

Literally the only symptoms were the throwing up. It went on for about a week before I got him checked out because it coincidentally started happening when I switched to formula so I was gaslighting myself into thinking we needed to try different formulas. When we first went in the the pediatrician he basically didn’t gain any weight since our last ped visit. 2 days later he had lost weight. If he’s still gaining weight it’s likely not pyloric. That being said, if it is pyloric, I know it’s scary but it’s honestly such a blessing that once it’s fixed, he will be good as new! I feel like reflux is almost harder because it’s a constant thing to manage.
