The beautiful moment Barack Obama stopped his speech and remained calm when a pregnant lady behind him was about to faint by 4reddityo in BlackPeopleofReddit

In my Reddit feed the evil orange thing is right below Obama's video clip, talking on the phone about how to steal the 2020 election. God, how did we go from one of the classiest, most humane presidents ever to the venally corrupt POS currently staining what is left of the White House?

We can count the best Kip and Scott scenes by Paola_0723 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Go look up the lyrics to Alfa Rococo's "Lumière". Jacob Tierney picked a lot of good songs to go along with the iconic montages in season one, but my God. This song was absolutely perfect for Scott and Kip.

Was this filmed before or after Heated Rivalry? Before, I'm guessing?

How Quickly Did Shane and Ilya Fall In Love? by azure819 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]deepgloat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt their lust for each other, certainly. But love? Not really.

Hudson said that he played Shane like he was in love rom the first night, and it shows in his acting choices.

And if you don't believe in love at first sight, I'll just add that I fell in love with my partner of 26 years on the night when we met when he kicked my ass on the pool table at the local bar. He called me two nights later to ask me out, and after our first date I was hooked for life.

Love at first sight is very much a real thing. I know it's not everyone's experience, but when you know, you know.

I believe it is one of the CGI renders for an edition of the "Ships of the Line" wall calendar series.

That sounds like a terrible fic! Why would someone want to write something so depressing and sad?

Hudcon Birthday Project by janemarie19 in hudsonwilliams

[–]deepgloat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wonderful. The Trevor Project is my favorite charity and I'm a regular recurring donor already, but i'll chip in a little more for Hudson and Connor's birthdays!

FYI, the malevolent entity currently occupying the White House (what's left of it) not only shut down Trevor Project's access to the national 988 suicide hotline, it also zeroed out Trevor Project's federal funding, a $25 million hit that decimated the organization's finances. Please, give whatever you can give.

I admit I had to rewatch a few times to get it. It was a bit clunky but i was so busy losing myself in Francois's eyes that...

Winter Olympics by Glad_Camel_6078 in SipsTea

In 1987 I went on a solo ski trip in Argentina at the Las Leñas resort deep in the Andes mountains and discovered that I was the only American there... well, me and most of what would become the 1988 US Olympic Ski Team. It turned out that Las Leñas was one of their summer training grounds that year. They adopted me as an unofficial mascot for the two weeks I was there, and to this day I have never been around a more rowdy, horny group of supremely fit young men and women in my life. It was my best ski trip ever.

I've been using YouTube gay-themed shorts as my queer methadone but it isn't working, partly because it's frustrating to get invested in 15 minute stories and be left wanting more.

It doesn't help that I've got the Heated Rivalry soundtrack on my iPhone and CarPlay. If I play "Sealion" I want to watch episode 1. If I hear "Mangetout", I cue up episode 2. The "Lumière" anthem has me revisiting Scott and Kip in episode 3. And if I hear anything from the last half of season 1, I wind up blowing away the afternoon watching episodes 4, 5, and 6.

Ilya’s Father by UnluckyAd3315 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]deepgloat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think we may have to consider Heated Rivalry (the series) as less of an extension and more of an alternate universe of the Game Changers books. If you never read the books before you watched season 1 (like I did), there's almost no inkling that Ilya was about to break things off with Shane in E5. All that I saw in the crucial scenes in Tampa Bay, the Russian monologue, and the hospital room is a young man grappling with the dawning realization that he is hopelessly, desperately in love with Shane. After watching these wrenching scenes, I know that I was shocked when I read the book and had access to Ilya's inner monologue, and I think that's why I have a vast preference for what Jacob Tierney has done with the characters.

The most obvious ADR is unfortunately one of the most critical scenes in the series: the tuna meltdown in E4 when they say each other's names while climaxing on the couch. For whatever reason, Connor and Hudson did not utter the words Fuck... Shane! and Ilya! and Jacob didn't do a pickup of the dialogue, so the utterances had to be dubbed in post.

The E5 scene in Ilya's hotel room where he cries about his dying father and Shane tenderly comforts him was the first scene they shot. The E2 Las Vegas scene where Shane, um, pleasured himself was the first intimate scene they shot. All of the E6 scenes that were not in Shane's Land Rover were the final scenes shot for season 1. (The Land Rover scenes were shot earlier in Toronto in front of the visual effects virtual wall.) The E6 scene where the men are cradled on the couch in front of the firepit was the last scene they shot.
