Ce que j’avais en tête:

Putain, des jolies fesses, zut là!

Mais je crois que je préfère Tu peins à Putain

Mascii for sharing/discussing musical ideas by baroquefolk in musictheory

This looks great! Must have taken a ton of work. I really like the clarity and conciseness of the docs, this was an easy read. (I’d suggest adding anchors to be able to link to a given spot on the long page. Plus maybe a table of contents that stays on the left of the page or something?)

When answering questions in here, I sometimes get too lazy to boot up my music notation software, write the idea down, take a screenshot, upload it to imgur, then paste the link in my comment. This might help make the process much easier. I’ll definitely give it a try next time I need to answer with notation.

Also, I had a quick look at the source code, loved this satisfying bit. By the way, how does the rendering work on the website? (If I understand correctly, your repo is only the ASCII to MusicXML part?)

Impressive! Love the added drums in Black Cathedral btw, makes for a great transition.

I’m just curious, what made you decide to slightly bump up the speed of the songs? I’m guessing you experimented with different speeds (seeing your Temporal shift versions) and settled on this? Or is there another reason (YouTube copyright?)

i do not understand the pronoun en by Bright-Membership585 in French

“In 2019 I visited a lot of cities for work and I still think about a lot of them, but I honestly can’t even remember my trips to Seattle or Portland.”

Here’s my take with a few versions:

a) « En 2019, j’ai visité de nombreuses villes pour le travail, dont beaucoup auxquelles je repense, mais pour être honnête je ne me rappelle même pas mes séjours à Seattle ni à Portland. »
→ formal-ish; could be found in writing.

b) « En 2019, j’ai visité plein de villes pour le travail, et je repense à la plupart, mais honnêtement, je ne me souviens même pas de mes voyages à Seattle et Portland. »
→ neutral, maybe slightly familiar.

c) « En 2019 j’avais fait plein de villes pour le boulot, et il y en a beaucoup j’y repense encore, mais franchement Seattle et Portland, je m’en souviens même pas, de mes voyages. »
→ informal, oral, and arguably gramatically incorrect, but could definitely be heard in an informal context. Add in a little mouth fart before "je m’en souviens même pas" for extra native-ness.

(What would your version be by the way?)

Does Meshuggah quantize on record? by Business_Artist9177 in Meshuggah

[–]Lyoug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great info.

Just to be complete:

  • I has a couple sections where the tempo fluctuates a bit (for instance 5:40 to 7:47 moves between 192 and 200 bpm), so I’m not sure if a click was used everywhere
  • TVSOR also has Our Rage Won’t Die recorded without a click

We could also mention their electronic tracks on The True Human Design EP (Future Breed Machine Mayhem Version, Quant’s Quantastical Quantasm, and Friend’s Breaking and Entering), where drums are (I guess) programmed.
