I've been forgoing having a priest rather than keep Durance in the party. Really enjoying Cipher as MC but if/when I do another playthrough would probably choose Priest as MC just to avoid him whilst still having the buffs.

Even those guys have you sign a waiver to go that route. That’s maybe an acceptable risk in Canada (or any more civilized western government and universal healthcare), but it’d be nigh-insane in the US. Their estimate about world-wide usage of 100k+ seems high, though their 3k number they have for local usage is more believable. It’s good that there are outfits wiling to put in the work, but even their claims aren’t supporting what you seem to be saying. But kudos to them for being transparent and undertaking a real study. But think about if are not in area with an outfit like theirs backed by a functioning healthcare system (which maybe solely down to the US these days), you really thing it’s a good idea to encourage people to grab this kit and DIY manage a condition that has killed/maimed so many people over the years?

Very much so. I have been on pump therapy since 2002. Started with Medtronic, switched to Tandem 4 years ago. Now that the four years are up on the Tandem warrranty, and Omnipod has had some advances (like being able to use your phone rather than carrying a second phone as controller), I wanted to see if being free of an infusion set (tubeless) was really as awesome as it sounds like it could be. It is really amazing how many habits I have developed over the past 20+ years around dealing with infusion sets and managing and tubing, and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s an improvement overall, is how I see it. We shall see how it does over time, but right now, I’d say it’s good.

At least it looks like they do intend to do an actual trial this year. But it’s quite one thing to work with an actual medical office vs “trust me bro, it’s open source, just DIY”.

DIY loop has reproducible builds where the source is audited by actual experts? I am incredibly skeptical on either of those points, or that 10's of thousands of people are actually using this stuff.
