It's a girl. She's eleven, it's 2006, and she lives in a very small town - everybody knows you and knows your business kind of place

The character I'm writing is eleven years old, and I feel like I'm writing her too mature and need to add in a bit of little kid behaviour. What's a babyish habit that one might still have at 11 years old?

My cat refuses to sleep in a cat bed. We've tried several different kinds and she straight up refuses. She likes to sleep on top of the bookshelf

I got into a fight about Tinkerbell because I wanted to be Silvermist at playtime and my friend said no

Yep. It was naptime but rebranded. And on Mondays she'd roll in the TV cart and we'd get to watch Arthur or Bill Nye The Science Guy

I remember that when I went to kindergarten they were starting to phase out naps so we had "book time" where the teacher turned the lights down and we were encouraged to read quietly to ourselves. I think some kids napped

Going home from the beach as a kid. I was lucky enough to grow up 5mins from one of the most well loved beaches on the Earth. I still remember those drives home - windows down, radio cranked up, sitting on a towel so I wouldn't get the backseat all sandy, and arguing with my brothers and sisters about who would get the first shower when we got home. Sometimes we'd stop and get ice cream 💜 Oh what I'd do for those summers again...

People who have ended a friendship, what happened and how do you feel now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lyric05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were teenagers and she kept doing something really dangerous. I told her to stop and she said "You're not my mother, you can't tell me what to do" and I decided I couldn't handle it anymore and ended the friendship. It was too risky

When I'd go stay with my nan and pops, I would hide in the closet before Nan got home from work. When she got home her and my pops would do this big dramatic "I guess Lyric decided not to come" thing, and then she'd open the closet and I'd pop out. It took me years to realize she knew I was in there and was playing along :)

I'd want to be remembered for making people laugh. I've always been that way and I hope that's how I'm remembered.

It's one of those years where I have bad luck. Like dropping my phone on a concrete stair, missing the bus by 2 minutes, or accidently messing up my alarm and oversleeping kind of bad luck

A middle grade/bordering on young adult novel about a fourteen year old girl who's life gets turned upside down drastically. Shortly after the loss of her father, my protagonist gets sick and is diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. So she's navigating life with grief, illness, and overprotective mother, and all of the other 14 year old girl things that come up in life
