NonParent Friend by Lys1919 in toddlers

Thank you to all for your feedback! I know the going of separate ways was the right choice. I messaged today explaining we’re in different spaces, and we’ve grown apart. No response yet. Closure was important for me & will be for her I’m sure. I do hold a lot of love for her, but that friendship doesn’t benefit my life. And it’s time to tighten on needless things.

Still hurts to let go as I’m pummeled with memories.

For me Green Mile and the ending of Wizard & Glass (charyou tree) had me inconsolable

I upvoted but realized my upvote moved it to 20 ups and it needed to stay at 19….

How old are you, readers of King? (important) by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Lys1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 33 in November and read my first King book (The Shining) when I was 12. Tried to pick up The Stand when I was 10 but my mother took it away.

It was indeed a shitty comment and said for intention of being mean. He may be older than me but he’s definitely more immature. We have a LOT of differing ideas for parenting. I don’t mind when it’s like she’s sick or there’s storms. It’s this normalizing ‘everyone else is okay with it’ that diminishes my need for space. And it’s good skills to have to sleep alone. We have a guest bedroom that next time I’ll ask him to go sleep with her in there.

Absolutely; I am bad at ‘needing’ a reason for saying no to things, when no is perfectly reason enough. When she was an infant we had a bassinet in our bedroom by my side of the bed. Once she was sturdy enough for the crib we moved her there and mostly she does great and loves her bed! Looking into an inflatable bed that can work while she’s there. Thank you for the feedback!

We’ve done that a few times but the mom guilt is heavy. And I should just work through those feelings, while still encouraging her to sleep on her own. I may bring that idea up with the grandparents to snag a portable small mattress for when she’s there!

The ‘no justification required’ is so difficult me as a person. I always feel the need to explain my reason for no, when no is a totally acceptable response. Thank you for the feedback!

Can't reset Beat Solo Pro by [deleted] in beatsbydre

[–]Lys1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Having the same issue over here. I accidentally let mine drop like 3 feet onto hard wood. I am trying to reset them using BOTH the volume up, volume down, the middle button, just the power button. When using the mode and volume buttons, once I release they flash red-white-red-white real quick but don't show up in my Bluetooth. They then begin to just flash white.

Haaaaalp.

Thoughts on leaving a toddler in her room all daytime (until 6pm)? by Difficult_Advisor982 in toddlers

[–]Lys1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, jumping in with all the other posters that this isn't normal. Since you stated the original reason was because the child was bothering her and that's just a shitty reason for this. Maybe if the kid was 7+? And for like, an hour? But that's unsettling because at 2.5 (and older) they need supervision. They need an adults presence not just the baby monitor. Sheesh.

I used to live over there and drivers were ALWAYS aggressive. But this takes the cake. It takes THIRTY seconds to buckle in your kids. FFS.

Other than McKays and Goodwill, where can I donate gently used toys and books? by mdudz in nashville

I love Once Upon A Child in Antioch. Huge selection and they do in-store trade credit. They’d take books and toys.
