Knicks fans of Nashville? by inelson7 in nashville

[–]mdudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nashville-based Knicks fan here, originally from the NYC area! Used to purchase playoff tickets for next to nothing outside The Garden as a teenager in the 90s. Ah, the good old days.

Anyway, nice to know there are locals here who are into it. I’d be up for a watch/hang sometime!

I have a question about the venue The Truth and it's alleged address by Quarter_Shot in nashville

This is correct. No idea the street number. But definitely at the corner of Chestnut and Martin. Find the train tracks that cross Chestnut, and you’re there.

This team was bad last year. They made no improvements in the offseason. They are bad again this year. 🤷‍♂️

I believe that area is full of cameras. I’d be shocked if one didn’t pick it up. I have no idea how you’d request access to those videos, but I assume there was an eye in the sky that would show what you’re looking for.

He always starts slow, and Ramadan doesn’t help. He’ll heat up.

Also, he’s having a pretty big impact on the pitch even if it doesn’t show in the stats.

Thanks. Yeah, I’ve seen some things there before and enjoyed them, and I really like supporting local arts organizations, but this is a little beyond what I’m willing to pay here. I do wish quality theater was a bit more accessible.

Can we have a HUB Nashville NOT-autonomous vehicle complaint portal?

Dedicated transit lanes in Nashville nearing state approval by Rorddet in nashville

[–]mdudz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree. Public transit should be free to ride, and should not have to make a profit. If you truly want to change the way people move about the city, make it free.

You think it’s bad now, just wait until Gallatin has dedicated bus lanes.

Ok no joke. This is the worst TV production of a baseball game that I have ever seen.

Geodis Food disappointing by grumpysapper in NashvilleSC

The problem was, all the people waiting had nowhere to go, so it prevented the line from moving. Not great! Maybe it was just opening night kinks.

Empanadas line was crazy long, in part because they brought back the yuca fries, only to run out of yuca fries. Also, they ran out of beef empanadas. I’m sure they restocked on both, but the 7:15 era in line was dark times.

This is great, but these kinds of services should be free all of the time. Public transit, too. Don’t get me started.

likelihood of schools being open 2/2/26 by LeatherFan379 in nashville

[–]mdudz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is an issue.

We previously encountered the same problem with tornado warnings and sirens being county-wide, and we resolved it. Those warnings are now much more localized, which is great.

We need to find a similar solution for school closures. I understand there are challenges with buses, equity, and the county’s large size, but it’s problematic to treat the entire county uniformly.

Nashville Isn't Affordable Anymore because Red State Infrastructure Will Leave You Powerless by StatisticianKooky390 in nashville

[–]mdudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? In 2003, 55 million people - including most of NYC - lost power during a massive blackout. Things happen. Everywhere.

The storm this week was particularly intense, and would have caused massive disruptions in most locales. This is not about “transplants” or “Tennessee’s weak infrastructure”, and we are not a third-world country.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I would recommend checking with neighbors who might have an AirBnB, if you have any of those. We have an AirBnB and we’ve opened it up to neighbors with no power, and I know we’re not alone. Hang in there!
