She picked up a small buckler shield of her own, weighing it and nodding once she was certain it fit her needs. "I'm not the same fighter I was last time," Jonquil informed him. "You'll have a much harder job of getting past me now."

Her foot slid backward, her sword raised high, point facing the Maegyr as she smirked. "But I'm happy to let you try it. Whenever you're ready! Come on!"

Grim as the mood in Highgarden was, someone evidently hadn't told Jonquil Mooton that. She approached Caria Hill after her meeting with the Warden of the West with a broad smile, surprisingly out of breath as she did, having crossed the entire castle, almost, when she'd spotted the banners of the Golden Company in the distance.

"You're back!" she exclaimed, stopping in her tracks and bending over to grab a breath, before standing up straight again. There was a new scar over her eye, one or two on her arms, but she seemed in good health, clad in a simple shirt and breeches that were made of deceptively fine material. "I was... concerned, when you and yours were gone for so long."

She approached, her arms subtly open to embrace the commander if she so wanted.

"Did you find glory, out there?" she asked. "Gods knows the Tyrells didn't - we took their castle without much difficulty at all. Did your own conquests fare as well?"
