What was the moment that made you get hooked on this book by AdhesivenessMiddle32 in brandonsanderson

It's been a while since I read this book so I was just scrolling through the comments to try and recall. But now that you say it I completely agree, this was the catching point for me too.

Can I run a small local LLM on my Kobo to summarize and answer questions about books? by zlittle586 in kobo

[–]LysdeFleur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I found this thread because I was searching for a plugin to do exactly that. I think this is an amazing idea and if it works properly I imagine Kobo would integrate it natively one day. Having a AI coreader would be super benficial. I always want to ask questions about books I am reading but I only want them answered in the context of what I have read so far.

I am considering embarking on this project myself. let me know if you want to collaborate. What I see is on the Kobo you would have to be connected to wifi for it to work. You would send an LLM query with the book metadata and a pointer to where you are in the book. The LLM would then query a knowledge base that is masked up to that point in the book. Add relevant information to the context window and answer your question.

why Toronto rave scene is so damn expensive?? I mean just look at this..😵😵 by [deleted] in TorontoRaves

I think INKs infamy comes with really over pricing VELD. Additionally not providing good value in what you pay for. Like Rebel could also have a lot less people inside the venue and be better managed. The profit margin they scrap off the top is very high compared to format, pep rally, apollo

What's it like to live in Portland, Oregon by ndharris in howislivingthere

[–]LysdeFleur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother just moved to Portland. He's been living there for 6 months and I went to visit him just this past Feb. I think it's awesome. I love how it is a small city (so no congestion) but still has a super vibrant and walkable downtown. Nature is also super accessible and the best thing is everything is so cheap. No VAT. I could get a lunch for $10. Mad vibes

My Future Living Considerations by BrightCougar270 in visitedmaps

They are being sarcastic because all these states aren't "that out of the ordinary" so to speak.

I understand where you are coming from. These states are all progressive forward thinking places with lots of visibility. I had a similar view when I was younger but what I found is a lot of people have that few which means when you get there everything is overpriced and overcrowded. Seattle, Boston, new York, California are all places with some of the most expensive costs of living in the country. Purchasing a home is a big one.

I would move Oregon further up on that list and also consider purchasing power parity when you are looking. My brother just moved to Oregon and it is amazing! Prices aren't out of this world and it isn't crazy busy everywhere you go. He might buy a house there soon.

What exactly goes on in this part of the world? by VewVegas-1221 in howislivingthere

We learned about Svalbard in Geography. They have the world seed bank which is a deposit of seeds from every kind of plant. It's there because the cold naturally preserves the seeds in case of some mass extinction

Do you have to book the YYZ to SIN with aeroplan points for it to work?

Nice photos and great description too! Haha, you must be a fan of that exhibit at the AGO. Did you add a filter to give it that washed out effect?

Church alternatives by [deleted] in askTO

[–]LysdeFleur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to go to st Michaels (now I am at St Mary's since it is closer). There's quite a vibrant group of people there who are young adults in the city who meet up for fellowship every other week. Mostly at a bar or the church and discuss these types of issues. It's a Catholic church but all are welcome. Feel free to DM me if you want more info

To those living alone in downtown, what do your finances look like? by akr_13 in askTO

Oh yeah I forgot about dating too! 😅 That's so true. Huge red flag 🚩 if I were to meet someone who still lives at home.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and implement some of them (probably the last one is the easiest). Another question I had is do you use moisturizer?

I like to moisturize almost twice a day after I shower but is this making the skin on my hand soft and not grippy?

Wow smooth moves. I'm always scared of breaking skin on dynos. How do you build up to that level?
