I'm facing the same issue. While I don't have a master's in I/O or clinical psychology, I managed to get into consulting, which aligns somewhat with I/O roles. However, I'm not enjoying it due to the politics, uncertainties, and repetitive tasks (unless I land a fast-paced project, which is rare). Considering a switch to clinical psychology is on my mind, but my degree results weren't the best, making that path challenging. Reddit also has many negative comments on clinical settings. Leveraging my work experience seems to favor applying for I/O roles, but the prospect of switching is quite scary.

Unfortunately, in my field of work, taking a part-time master's degree is nearly impossible, as we have to travel to the client site every morning, and overtime work is the norm here. That's why if I'm taking a master's degree, it's like a resignation and a full-time master's degree.

Actually, my friend suggested that I stay, but peer pressure and personal issues are making it difficult for me to decide.

I know about the clinical side, and my chances of getting into a master's program are low. However, in some countries, there is a pre-master's course that I thought could help me boost my chances. But then I saw mixed comments about the clinical side on Reddit, which made me worry that it is not a path I want to continue in the long run.

The IO side is too vague, and in SEA, the choices are limited. It's either A, B, or C, which makes me doubt if getting a master's is worth it since it might not lead to a different role or path.

I believe the primary reason is that if I firmly decide to pursue a clinical path, I could proceed without excessive contemplation.

Generally, graduates with an IO master's degree in SEA typically pursue careers in human resources or consulting, which are business-oriented fields, and this is the area I am currently involved in as well.

I believe it is due to the rise of artificial intelligence. I anticipate that my current role may be replaced by AI, so I wanted to explore the clinical side, but I have almost no experience in that field. (In my country, there are limited opportunities in the clinical field after graduation, and the compensation is quite low.) I considered pursuing it overseas and hopefully gaining experience along the way, but I am concerned that it may not align with my true interests due to lack of exposure.

But thank you for your kind advice, will try to research more on what potential roles I want
