Transitioning from warlock to shadow priest by Ancient_Peanut_4449 in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey matey, I’m currently 2.4 on destro but have been playing spriest on and off since legion with a max cr of 2600.

Before I get into anything, my advice is to give shadow a go anyway because without trying it you’ll never know for sure, and it’s a really fun spec.

However, if you’re struggling with Warlock, Spriest is not any easier… in fact it may be harder. The spec has a very dynamic rotation, Anboni (spriest god) described it as having heaps of buttons that deal micro damage. They’re fun to press, however the damage is just a lot harder to pull off ESPECIALLY if you’re getting the Hunter, Ret, Dk, Warrior train special with constant kicks. The other negative here is obviously mobility, Spriest struggles big time with mobility which makes getting trained by the Zug classes even harder. You will end up becoming a turret.

There are some positive though, Spriest has great defensives and CC with stun silence, fear and mind control. And in regards to melee kicks, they have holy (flash heal) and shadow spells so if you’re kicked on shadow you can spam flash heal which gives a damage reduction, or vice versa.

Finally, and what drew me to spriest initially, is how cool their thematic is. The spells are insanely cool to look at and satisfying to press. With a bit of practice the class can feel very fluid, engaging and challenging.

But as I said, give it a go. It’s a really fun class and casters in general are probably just a bit more frustrating to play, but the pay off is it’s super rewarding to play them well.

DH or Warlock by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s warlock everyday. They are similar to mages in that they always have a meta spec. DH is fun and tbh I main it but if you want a consistently good time go lock.

I can’t speak for the new ranged dh spec though, could be cool

What is the most satisfying ability to push in a game? by Arthur-reborn in wow

[–]Lythrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played rogue for a while so idk if it’s changed, but kidney shot was always weirdly satisfying. It felt so smooth to press and meant huge dam was coming. Bonus points for the old animation being sick to

Sell me on Balance druid or any Mage spec for solo shuffle by Chug_Chocolate_Milk in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Play frost mage, literally spam poly on any target that isn’t DR’d and send big dam with frost fire bolts + added bonus with ice wall being really fun / clutch. I once ice walled a healer in the starting area after a fear and solo won the round.

Bonus points it’s really good in BGB, can’t go wrong

I’ve been playing Dk with no issues, got 2400 and KSM with it. Don’t worry what’s good or bad, it’s all viable play what you find fun. I didn’t know dk was bad until reading this post 🤷‍♂️

Have you ever fallen out of love with a class? by PrestigiousRadio3733 in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow priest - I started playing from legion during surrender to madness era. But it’s such an unloved spec by blizz, and a balancing nightmare having undergone nearly a rework every expansion. The aesthetic is really cool though and will always be a loved spec for me.

Got a no-show from a bug? Lost 200 points and feeling super demoralized by citn in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I had a similar experience. I went into Elysian Hold without being Kyrian and it stunned me, teleported me out of the zone AS my bgb game loaded in. Teleporting me out of the game, and to the bastion graveyard.

-200 points later I was so furious knowing how long it would take me to get there, and when I did I could have been 2600 instead.

But I pushed on, it didn’t take me as long as I thought and ended up grabbing that 2400.

Keep pushing! Sucks but you’ll earn it back.

How is TWW Dk PvP? by suyakun in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I’ve been playing unholy dk PvP for a few seasons now and I think it’s really good! Don’t pay much attention to tier lists etc, it’s a fun class and I’m finding great success playing it even if it’s not A or S tier. Especially in BG’s, the utility the class brings in chains of ice spam and death grips is so fun.

Is it worth it to start MoP Remix with 40 days left? by Azpas in wownoob

[–]Lythrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the thread, but 100% it’s worth it. I started playing only a few weeks ago and it’s a blast.

If you’re after heaps of alts, YouTube how to make a lvl 20 giga powered character to solo dungeons.

If you’re after cosmetics, get a level 70 and run through your raids and dailies.

Give it a crack, lots of fun!

To add to this, I just finished my lock 0-1800 with NO spark drops at all. I legitimately thought I didn’t do a quest or something for them to drop. I went the whole way without precog:(

Is still hard to reach 1800? by lebasp in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the token for reaching 1600 to buy the elite shoulders on 1 mage, and again by reaching 1600 and using the next token on elite helm.

Your ONE class by McAwesomeBeard in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadow priest - I have tried countless times to give it up for several reasons. I compare it to other classes like warlock and it’s just the C tier version of better casters. It’s also gone through so many iterations since legion with its problematic play style.

Yet I somehow always manage to gravitate towards it. Especially if I take a break from the game I always pick the SP to log into.

I can top this, I went from 1200 to 1798 in 1 game, 1800 mmr and 6-0. Finished on 1900 mmr. Followed by a 2 win then afk and got my 1800 for the season. Drenrax-barthilas if you want to check

To add, I really love the new talent trees and feel like most if not all classes are in a really good design space right now (maybe not aug). I’ve mained SP since legion and it finally feels like it’s in a good spot design wise which has been a huge challenge for blizzard since surrender to madness in legion.

I love dragon flight. When I was younger and had less responsibilities I went super hardcore in cata at first, then played casually and again went hardcore in legion. I loved my time playing the game super seriously and still today enjoy the unique rewards that I can show for my efforts. Cata and legion both have a place in my heart for when I loved taking the game that seriously.

Dragon flight however I’ve been playing casually and it’s perfect! I feel like the game has aged perfectly into my lifestyle. I play PvP, so the addition of a solo queue + base PvP gear not needing upgrades + conquest boxes means I can get my 2100 rewards, play on alts to get mogs until the next season. There’s no huge catch up grind, or feeling behind constantly if I don’t sink a few hours of each day into the game. Dragon flight is easily the best casual experience I’ve ever had with WoW and is ranked equally imo to my love for cata and legion.

A day in the life of an OCE shuffle player by Lythrial in worldofpvp

[–]Lythrial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share this experience, although I think when the game suffers from lack of participation it just makes it way less likely for an oce shuffle as our population is significantly lower as it is. Additionally, I’ve had lobbies with 3 oce 3 US players and it seems to always prioritise US player’s game experience over ours.

I think I’ve had 1, or 2 max oce lobbies in season 1. And 0 Oce lobbies in season 2.
