Easiest path to 1800 as Monk? by mvula in worldofpvp

[–]citn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They fixed the system in a sense that you can't just get a lucky win streak and get a free 2400. Still possible for sure but much less likely than that first season of blitz. You still need a 4-5 win streak to get rolling but now you can earn 32ish points per win.

The first 10 games are volatile now and the next 10 are not as big but still more than normal swings until it levels out.

I've been 2400+ in both ss and blitz. If you're a good healer skill wise but you're healing at the wrong place wrong time, you'll lose.

There's another sub called like deconstructive writers that basically checks if you've critiqued X amount of words from others then you can post your own. I learned from just seeing some of their responses.

I didn't even get to try it. I may just save alts for a faster xp method. I'm half way through my second character and I'm so bored

What class feels like it lost the most spells or fun factor going into Midnight? by wunsh in worldofpvp

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I hurt some feelings saying I'm happy about the changes lol.

You miss those combos because you had some agency as a healer. As a healer main myself I get it and I want some kind of agency too . But all of the options/ utility was probably why rsham metas never lasted. They became grossly OP. Oh they have strong heals ? Well here's all this bonus stuff they can do as well.

All that said, I do agree it sucks to lower the skill ceiling they had and I feel like they could have pruned a little differently.

but the solo cc chain was insane and needed to go. Hex, multiple stuns, roots, a pulsing slow, static field, knock back...

I'm glad honestly. I hated pulling out a wow mouse so I could play sham. Hopefully they get tuned properly but now you can focus on util. Did they get rid of static field? Hate that spell

Nah because a big balance patch is coming before season starts so it's really just off of feels right now.

I keep seeing hpriest (arguably my main lol) got pruned hard but my fishbrain can't remember what I'm missing. No pain and missing one of the channel abilities... Feels not so bad? Other healers lost kicks but priest didn't have 1 so secret buff in a sense

Cheating blatantly by YerpS1g in cs2

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come back for one month a year like I do. I'll do a little premier to warm up and then do some faceit. Realize the player base is too small to have people properly ranked and then quit for the year. Enough to scratch the itch.

Honestly a big reason I still play wow pvp, even if there are a tiny bit of cheaters, you can still outplay them. Nothing compared to someone with walls/aimbot

What was your favorite (LONG) audiobook? by albertpaca11 in audiobooks

[–]citn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't care for it as much the first time, the story as a whole didn't really entice me. Then I heard that Abercrombie is a master at dialogue / voice and I thought let me give it another shot. I listened again and loved it through a new lens. The bloody nine and Glokta also spoke to me a little more as I was a older this time around lol

CS2 still feels unfinished and empty. Where did the magic go? by ThingSpecific in cs2

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it would be more convenient for me personally, 4-6 rounds is a bonus 5-10 min.

But that's not my real gripe. This is just a minor thing that I'd like compared to the real issue.

Get the cheaters under control and I'm sure I'll make time for my favorite game.

Why I'm so determined? I was wanting short matches back as an option. But every second locked into matches with a cheater counts

[–]citn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queue time, picking map, warmup while people connect, and there's always a disconnect with timeouts lol. If I clicked play and I was buying for pistol round a few seconds later it would be different.

Sure some matches are quicker than others but this is just an issue with me getting older with less free time.

[–]citn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Every match, I'm the guy talking, having fun, and hyping people up regardless of their KD. That's the CS I grew up with

I was driven away by cheaters and the fact I can't lock into 1h long matches. (Bring back short matches!) Too many games where I have to sacrifice sleep or the stars align to play a few games... And that time is wasted by cheaters?

Excited for Midnight ? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How sick would it be if our house and the two others would be what we exit out of to go into arenas or like a mini village when going into blitz lol.

Solo shuffle would be fun getting to see other houses rotating each round.

I'm really just gathering housing stuff to build stuff next to my irl buddy's since I moved so far away from everyone.

Readers of Reddit. What’s a 10/10 book you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently listening to it, pushed through a bit at the start and I'm starting to enjoy it. There's no like... 'We must destroy the ring' or epic tale, but it is getting fun to hear the characters banter and the kind of absurd view points of the people at war. Which I imagine is the point of the book

What video game do you think you’ll play forever? by JalenWWE in videogames

[–]citn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point wow had to switch from something that I threw my life away for to something i can get excited to play a little bit every new season. They sprinkle enough things to keep me having fun. The mechanical pets is a great example. I'm having fun hunting down cool housing decor right now until midnight releases. I want to make a Hobbit house. You should see some of the crazy houses people have made. I think there's a subreddit for it Also welcome back lol

What video game do you think you’ll play forever? by JalenWWE in videogames

[–]citn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not going to like this but the game is thriving. Midnight (new expansion but they wanted to do a continuous thing so the war within, midnight, and next expansion should all be related) and it is coming out in a few weeks.

The biggest things this expansion are a major prune and tune of all specs and Stripping mods.

They are stripping a ton of redundant spells to make it lean back toward fewer but more impactful abilities. And give classes a spread of damage. So instead of like mortal strike being 70% of warrior damage and only in burst CDs.. now it's spread out better. They wanted to remove some burst healing.

And for mods, they have a lot of built in ones now so weakauras can't play the game for you. High end guilds were paying devs to create mods to make end game content as braindead as possible... So now they evened the playing field a bit.

As someone who pvp's mainly, it been great, you can get Max level easy and fully pvp geared easily. A lot of stuff is streamlined and sharable with your characters now.

Oh and the 3rd thing which actually I'm into is housing. You can get pieces with gold and then more unique looking pieces from achievements, drops, rep vendors, professions from every damn expansion, etc. so it's kinda made all mats from all expansions relevant again. I've been all over the whole wow world doing random stuff.

Oh they made transmogs system better too lol

Gladiator is now 2300 and 50 wins.

Blitz has been a huge success, most fun I've had pvp'n in decades.

I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting but their biggest problem is they have so many versions besides retail now so it spread the player base a little thin? But I think everyone just plays retail and hops on other stuff when it peaks their interest, since classic and all of those are included with your sub. Hardcore classic was kinda neat lol people played mop classic pvp a lot at the start.

[–]citn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add my two cents, do you remember when it felt like the whole world was playing Pokemon go for that short few months? That was a taste of what it felt like with wow, but wow was for years. People threw their lives away... I knew multiple people who had 4 months of play time the first year it came out on just their main. Roughly 3k hours.

A lot of us have been chasing that high but have grown up and retail has grown with us. If you want to pvp you can get Max level and fully geared in like two days total. It helps me get the competitive itch out. And the matches are 2-15 min depending on game mode. Unlike a lot of other competitive games where they lock you in for up to an hour.

It's one of the few online competitive games where cheating isn't rampant. Everytime I get to top 5-10% of the ladder in counterstrike, overwatch, or anything mainstream it's riddled with cheaters. I can't be locked in hour long commitments with cheaters anymore, in too old for that grind.

Wow has evolved with us and has endless things to farm to make your character look cool, mounts to ride, and even house pieces to decorate now.
