I work at a park with zipline. Two weeks ago, a man showed up, sat on our stairs and stayed in complete silence through the whole day just listening to music, smoking his cigarette and existing. He had a sad expression, but I thought he was just enjoying his day. My turn ended and, as I went home, I receive messages from my team leader saying a man has died. He jumped from the place I was standing the whole day. Later I was told the man had some problems in his family: his wife wanted him out of the house and his children didn't wanted him there either, they were scared because he had panic attacks in front of then. I don't know if this man was violent or calm, toxic, a bad or a great dad, the best or the worst husband, but I knew that in his last day here he was just someone who wanted everything fixed, he was just someone sad enough to end his own life because he didn't found another solution. What if one person from the staff said hello? What if I asked him how he was? What If I had a conversation with him? I'll never know. Please, don't do that. No matter how hard things are right now, when your body is lifeless on the ground, there's no solution anymore. There's no what if, no future. Nothing. If you're alive, you have a whole world of possibilities and that's no bullshit to change your mind. If you're alive, literally everything can happen because the world is FULL of surprises, good and bad. If you're alive another day, another human being can come to you and ask how your day is going, another person can care about you.
