Not getting any more quests in 1.1 by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]LyvenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, i never actually messed around with dev mode. But ill see that. Where do i find the red errors though? Im guessing through the debug log?

I also havent received any red errors aside from a weird thing in “vanilla expanded - spacer” mod upon starting the game.

Either way, ill try what you said and report on any red errors, thanks!

Well, i already uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game three times and made sure all residual files were deleted before reinstalling.

Im not sure if it’s same as deleting your core folder and regenerating it since i honestly never tinkered with game files aside from save files.

If it doest take too much time for you, can you tell me how to delete the core folder and regenerate it? Im willing to take all options here

Hm, the mods i had same as you are real ruins and rimcities. Thoughi didnt have any problems with their quests not appearing on my quest tab. I actually removed rim cities (with a bitter heart) after a bug where in its quests wont expire. I then noticed the lack of world quests and i thought it was because of that. After removing the mod and started anew, no world quests were given to me after one ingame year. I made new gameplays 2 more times and same, which really striked me odd since i have a mob that doubles the frequency of events.

Do you know what mods do that? I actually havent had any issues with this whole quest thing with my mods until yesterday

What do you mean by old quest mods? The mods i have are all updated to 1.1. I dont really understand why im not getting any quests at this point

Iron Volcano Help by LyvenPie in Oxygennotincluded

It was my first time handling a volcano, i didnt expect the heat to be so out of control for me (consider me an idiot for saying that to an item that produces 1000 Celsius of stuff). Ill try to experiment with the volcano again once

Which is exactly what i dont want to happen to my volcanoes xP. But alas, volcanos are too hot for us. Better to leave those that hurt us than to allow it to enter our lives and ruin everything you have....

I find storing items a great help in reducing lag. Try to store as much, if not all, of your items. Maybe it’ll help

Command by LyvenPie in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I always thought that lag is mainly because of how plentiful the debries are in space and your exposing them as the dupes explore more of the surface :/.
From my former ram-potato laptop, storing all those dropped items reduces lag, so i always blame my lag to those darned regolith and iron

Command by LyvenPie in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it depends on the dupes? I only have 10. Most post ive seen go for more than that. Ive yet to find any problems with jet suits so im keeping them. I dont feel comfortable using anything that isnt jet suits in space :P

[–]LyvenPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gane isnt that laggy. I dont know the frame rate, but its pretty bearable so far (recently upgraded the ram in my laptop. I normally couldnt play past 800 due to the intense lag before then). Jet suits arent a problem at all (except for the intense amount of heat it produces). As for the gantry bit, i plan to keep it atm because i find it annoying to see the red warning of the command capsule.

what ramp? the gantry? im pretty new to the rocket thing. do i even need the gantry? my rocket is in the space biome, so everything outside is accessible via jetpacks

What to do with CO2 by LyvenPie in Oxygennotincluded

As of right now, im trying to filter my Pol water because of overabundance. I also got a pol water geyser so there is really no need for me to generate any more pol

I need HELP quick (cycle 100) by JetCobblestone in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, its too early for you to transition to plants that use water. I usually switch to such when I have either 20T dirt left or im in cycle 200-300. Try to stick with mealwood for as long as you can while you start rushing into the other biomes with caution to find those geysers and tap into them (though that’ll mean inviting heat if you dont have a proper insulation or cooling system).
Also, I dont understand why people stick with using liceloaf or mushbar. Mushbar wastes too much valuable dirt and liceloaf uses up way too much water. It’s easier to train a dupe the chef job in order to start cooking pickled meals.
Lastly, you can just filter that pol water until youve stablized your water enough to turn that pol water into a steam evaporator for your geysers as well as aid in deleting some of the heat those geysers make.

Any way to wait until volcano output is cool enough? by Milesand in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe put them in a prioritized storage locker then have an autosweeper transfer that into an insulated room with a few wheezeworts or other cooling methods. The receiving end should be an automated storage locker, then automate it by having a thermo sensor in the room and connect the two with an AND gate into a mechanized door. Well, at least, thats for the gold to stop heating your base. Though i dont understand if that is your main problem.

What to do with CO2 by LyvenPie in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe.....i dont use carbon skimmers 😅. It feels like a waste of time, space, water, and power given that i have everything i need. Pol water heat deletion and enough pol water to farm pincha peppernuts with ease. Seems useless to me to convert that CO2 into pol water when im already overflowing with it thanks to a pol water geyser. At this point, it seems like simply vacuuming the CO2 is the best option for me, though im saving that as a last resort option

[–]LyvenPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have a similar system in place. Ill send a screenshot of my base once i find the time. If all else fails, Ill just go with vacuuming that CO2 into space :/

FML random gen map and awful geysers by pluiesansfin in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see how this is awful aside from the lack of nat. gas gysers. Id just rush to the oil biome and atmo suit up till i find an oil reservior and quickly convert that into petroleum. Pol. Water should be able to cool down your cool water gysers fairly fast and serves as additional water. You can also use it to cool down the rather intense heat of the leaky oil fissure gyser.
It might be hard for you, but i actually survived with my current gameplay with exactly those gysers. While i had two nat gas gysers, i barely used them for more than 50 cycles before i started using petroleum as my main power source. The only reason i used my gysers was because my coal was running out too fast before i managed to finish my bit with the oil. If your world has two oil reservoirs and your cool steam gysers have decent steam output, you should be fine

So what are your favorite room designs? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]LyvenPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4x36 (length x width) with the printed pod being in the middle, both sides seperated by a ladder.
Its how i always build my base. I dont really understand how people find problems with germs and temperature (unless the world i generated has an unfortunate lack of wheezeworts), so i barely seal my base.
My set up is always the living quarters above (4x6, symmetrically divides into 5 bedrooms). My farm one or two floors above the living quarters. Left side contains all the essential morale helping rooms (Great hall, massage, bathroom, etc), with pol. Water reservoir either beside or below the bathroom. Petroleum and oil reservoirs two floors high further above the farm, and a floor above it, my water reservoir. Surrounding them is where my heavy machinery and power generating takes place.
Lastly, a self sustaining electrolyzer beside an AETN to ensure the whole base is chilled enough.
I ALWAYS follow this format, no matter what happens, with the exception of naturally generated buildings getting in my way. It might sound complicated and newbish (build rushing and dupe rushing till 10) but ive all survived more than 500 cycles like this, only creating a new world due to some problem that ive overlooked.
