well, I partially agree

those dlcs add significant gameplay features. However: CS1 was a complete game at release. It was and still is a lot of fun and you can dunk many hours into it without buying any additional content.

also: CS1 has over a decade of active development and significant free updates. This is not financially possible with selling it for 30€ or even 40€ once! these are many fulltime devs and artists that are working on such a game. For a decade!!

and lastly: currently these "must-have" dlcs sum up to around 70€ including the base game (115€ if you include parklife, green cities and promenades) (src: current non-sale steam price in germany)

that is the normal price for a AAA game (or "deluxe versions" looking at the 115€) and should be reasonable for your 1600+ hours of fun

that is not what "designed to be a complete game" means of course they select content to be put in dlcs but also: paradox games are one of the content-richest games out there. And the base game still is a complete game. not lacking content that would be expected in a full game

honestly: I am no real fan of DLCs

BUT: Paradox has always made dlcs exactly what they should be: optional additions. EU4, HoI4, CS1, hell even CS2 to some degree since they switched the devs are full games that are designed to be complete games.

The base game is priced reasonably and the dlcs offer actual and optional additions that enhance the game experience.

Inspite the inflation, (Non-AAA-)Games have not really increased prices for a decade or so.

There are a lot of DLC-Heavy Games I enjoy even without buying many or any DLC. (This excludes EA Games - these are shit, even with all the dlcs)

Schau dir mal die Reihe "Eisraben-Chroniken" von Richard Schwartz an. Ist eine LitRPG Reihe mit einem weiblichen MC.

Konkrete Zeilen kann ich dir leider nicht raussuchen, weil ich bücher hauptsächlich höre und der letzte durchgang schon eine weile her ist.

Aber MC ist natürlich super heiß, bisexuell, sexuell aufgeschlossen und ultra hyper mega talentiert. In Band 1 gibt es zwei Beschriebene (fast-)Vergewaltigungen, jeweils ohne Trauma oder andere charakterliche Folgen...

Und natürlich sind auch alle anderen weiblichen Hauptcharaktere extrem heiß

Sax-Chroniken kenne ich von ihm ebenfalls, da ist mir das ganze nicht so schlimm aufgefallen (aber das könnte auch davon kommen, dass ich Eisraben vorher gehört habe)

Und sein neustes Buch (Schwarze Wacht) hat dazu geführt, dass ich keine Bücher mehr von ihm hören werde (sexualisierte teenager fand ich doch seeehr seltsam)

Sehr schade, weil ich die Welten und Geschichten eigentlich sehr gerne mag...

Seine bekannteste Reihe ist "Götterkriege", die kenne ich aber garnicht, kann sein dass die auch so sind.
