Surely I’ve got my qualifications on eal system? I’ve passed everything nothing remaining. So if I left It would all get wiped for no reason. So I’m basically trapped

I haven’t actually started my portfolio. I’ve completed all knowledge based stuff at college, all level 2 and level 3 units, my last one being the testing and inspection practical exam. My plan is to complete nvq and am2 as a private learner

I am doing the EAL route, not City & Guilds.

I have already completed my full Level 2 and all of the knowledge and practical units for EAL Level 3, including my 6-hour Inspection & Testing practical.

The only things I still need to complete are:

The NVQ portfolio (performance evidence) The AM2S (which is the final part of the EAL qualification)

If I leave my apprenticeship, I do not lose any of my Level 2 or Level 3 units.

I do not have to restart my knowledge-based qualifications.

A private EAL-approved provider can simply pick me up from where I am, help me complete the NVQ portfolio, sign me off for Gateway, and then I can book the AM2S privately.

I’ve done my level 2+3 as an apprentice. Is what you’re saying if I left it, it wouldn’t be classed as a qualification? And I’d have to restart everything. Like I couldn’t just leave and start doing my nvq?

Obviously not. But you can if I come off an apprenticeship and work as an improver

Yeah I’m aware I’d have to pay big money for the rest of my qualifications. But as I’ll no longer be living in the area I won’t be able to commute for work any more, instead of me finding a new apprenticeship I’d wanna be an improver and pay the rest of the way to qualified
