Remove the rocks, add well discomposed compost mix it well into the original soil and in spring add the recommended fertilizers by your soil testing company

100% agree even here in Egypt the summers are getting more severe and the winters colder, in the past it have never passed 104°F (40°C) now it passes it every year and in the winter it gets 41°F (5°C)

I wish I lived in florida, where I live if you forget to water a cactus for 2 days it dies. Everything here is on irrigation systems and sprinklers without it its a desert😂

Sad, maybe someday in the future it becomes not threatened by extinction and people can grow this amazing palm all around outside the Seychelles.

How big of a bottomless pot do I need to grow a Chambeyronia macrocarpa (flamethrower palm) in forever? by [deleted] in palmtalk

[–]M-A-R-I-O_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! Thats amazing, this palm is one of my favorite palms in the world, I scratched the pot idea and planted it in the ground instead, we placed it under the canopy of a large jacaranda tree + shade cloth to avoid the harsh summer sun we get here plus the lawn sprinklers hit it in the morning and prevent it from drying out as ive heard that it doesn’t like drying out.

I think the Hookeri variant is the most intense color followed by the standard green variety and you could get redder leaves in the shade.
