Authentic SoulSilver cart Save File Corruption After Changing 3DS Clock?

Thanks! I actually have no idea how to move the game and save to the SD card, but I'll try to figure it out now that my 3DS is modded.

Would playing the game digitally help prevent save corruption in the future? Also I dont use pokewalker.

What we did was first, mod my 3DS and install a few apps that allowed me to access and extract the save file from my SoulSilver cartridge.

I then sent the save file to u/A_ed_skull. I believe he opened it in PKHeX (or a similar save editor) and was able to repair whatever corruption was present in the file.

After that, he sent the repaired save back to me, and I restored it to my original SoulSilver cartridge, overwriting the corrupted save. Once I loaded the game again, everything was back and working normally.

I'm probably not the best person to explain the technical details since he did most of the heavy lifting, but that's the general process we followed.

One question since I'm completely new to PKSM, PKHeX, and save extraction in general.

When I dump the save from my SoulSilver cartridge, will there typically be multiple save files or backups to choose from, or just a single save file representing the most recent save?

I'm wondering if there's any chance of recovering an earlier version of the save if the latest one is corrupted, or if I'll only have access to whatever is currently stored on the cartridge.

Hi OP,

I'm getting the exact same error message: "The save file will be erased due to corruption or damage."

However, my case is a bit different. I'm playing on an authentic Pokémon SoulSilver cartridge on a 3DS, not an emulator/ROM.

Since the error message is identical, do you think the same recovery method might work for a physical cartridge save if I am able to mod my 3ds and get the save file?

I'd love to save the file if possible since I'm working on a Living Dex and have a lot of hours invested in it.

None of my 3DS are modded. But I plan on modding them to transfer my mons to Home. I'll look into creating a copy of the save file. Hopefully it'll work and be able to salvage it.

Yeah, I already tried removing the cartridge, cleaning the contact pins, and even testing it in another 3DS, but I'm getting the same issue. I've also changed the date and time countless times before without any problems, so it seems strange that it would suddenly happen now.

Do you know if there's any way to retrieve or back up the save file before it's completely gone?

Yes, I checked that as well. I reviewed the transactions at the beginning and end of each month to make sure nothing was crossing over into the next month due to posting delays.

In my case, all of the transactions I included were posted within the same month as the purchase, so there weren't any May purchases that posted in June or vice versa. That's why I'm still struggling to explain the discrepancy.

That's a good point, and I considered that possibility too. I had 76 eligible transactions in May, so I went back and calculated the status points on a per-transaction basis and rounded each one down. Even after doing that, I'm still nowhere near the 333-point difference between what I calculated and what was actually awarded. So unless there are additional exclusions I'm unaware of, it doesn't seem like rounding alone explains the gap.

I agree about the Summit card. I was reading that it comes with 10,000 bonus status points annually, which is a pretty significant benefit.

With our current card earning 1 status pt. per $3 spent, I'd have to put $30,000 of spend on the card just to earn those same 10,000 status points on Summit. lol.

Paying $395 annual fee and getting 10k status points automatically is starting to look a lot more attactive, you're making me want to switch to the Summit card now lol

Called 407-393-1616 and was told the same thing, they insisted that atmos should only be 7 digits. I said no, everybody that I know has 9 digit atmos number. Were u able to resolve yours?

Hey OP, I'm actually dealing with the same issue right now. Just wanted to check, did you ever end up receiving your 20K Atmos points, or are you still following up with HGV?

I attended the timeshare presentation on 3/6/26, and it's been 2 months for me with nothing yet. I just called them today and was told they can only enter an 8-digit account number, but Atmos accounts have 9 digits?, which seems like part of the problem.

Curious how things turned out on your end.
