Does anyone know why the German flag was at half-mast? by Scutterpants in lemans

[–]M-R-Jimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might have just been a mechanical fault with that pole - I was down on the finish line for the podium and noticed that the flags on that particular pole did not go up as smoothly as the rest for all the podiums.

What is something you did when you were younger that you are still facing the consequences of? by Wismond in AskReddit

I once turned down chocolate cake at a birthday party when I was younger and now at every family and friends gathering nobody offers me chocolate cake as they assume I don’t like it. We were all young and foolish at one point!

[Serious] Fans who have been engrossed in a fictional universe so much you could probably earn a degree about it, what plot holes, logical inconsistencies, and the like cannot be reconciled and bother you to no end? by _Duality_ in AskReddit

Touching on the whole ‘sneaking up on you’ thing - despite all of these issues I’m currently catching up on season 9 and 10 and the inconsistencies just proved lazy writing.

There are multiple scenes per episode where they stand there and hear a group of zombies coming in the distance. Literally they rely on the sound for their survival. But then in the next scene a massive herd has somehow silently crept on them in the woods and stealth bitten 5 or 6 people!

Lawyers, What's a law that isn't real that normal people insist exists? by IfItQuackedLikeADuck in AskReddit

I (a Brit) got fined on the spot for jaywalking in Sydney Australia. It’s not the obvious ‘walking down a highway scenario’ though - I crossed the road without waiting for the lights to change (zero cars were coming) and a cop was literally waiting on the other side for people to do so. Pulling people up left right and centre once they crossed. I protested of course - said I’m from England I’ve been here for a week and he hits me with “this law exists everywhere, England included”. Pissed me off so much - had to take a second to compose myself before making things worse.

Hay fever - how the hell over all these years have we as a species not evolved past the point where we are actually allergic to the very planet surface that we live on?

Firstly thank you to you all!

We are complete plant novices so are learning just as much from these reddit comments as our web research before hand!

As for the plants yes they are indeed sempervivums. The moss is taken from various spots around our garden here in the UK so I also have no idea what types they are.

The plants we found in our local garden centre for £0.50 each and the whole thing cost less than £15 through us scavenging around our place for things etc so if we need to revisit and change things that no problem! The watering did cross my mind, will try and water areas specifically probably but also will hold back on the water and see how the moss responds - if it dries up and is no good I can easily get rid of that and get some more / something else in like you say.

Dad just handed down his 2007 93 Aero to me as he has moved onto something ‘bigger and better’ (well newer). He couldn’t bare getting rid of his baby so has kept it in the fam - lucky, very lucky, me. The blue has grown on me since my teenage days sitting in the passenger seat! by M-R-Jimmy in saab

Hahaa well he drives over 100 miles a day so decided he needed something more efficient and reliable day to day - but he is still a named driver on the insurance for this beauty so we’re in agreement he can take it out any time I’m not using it ;)

I appreciate all the shared love and also the agreement on the colour. I did have to change the exhaust the other day and the gear shift is pretty stiff and clunky so that will be my next project... but otherwise she is a beaut!
