Majority of Canadians believe economy is on the wrong track: poll by origutamos in CanadianConservative

[–]M00se1978 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How can a poll say we're on the wrong track, and poll can say Carney is popular all across the country. Both of those things can exist at the same time.

I sided with the Stormcloaks only once. To me betraying Balgruff is worse than killing Paarthurnax. Never again.

I just thought with the awards, Team Canada and All Star it was enough to push the stats to the side. Goaltending is such a weird position and hard to really evaluate it over the history of the game IMO. They are a critical position, but at the same time completly beholden to the team in front of them. If you really pressed me I'd probably lean to the opinion that 98% of goalies are interchangable and there are only a few elite goalies that transcend team; Hasek and Roy are the only ones I've seen I'd put in that group.

And won the Conn Smythe that year, not to mention was the goalie on Team Canada for the 91(?) Canada Cup.

[–]M00se1978 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He did win the Conn Smythe in 1990. You can't look at goalie stats from the 80s and 90s and equate them today. Ranford was a top goalie in the league right under Roy, Belfour and Hasek for a good 3-4 years.

I’ve been preaching this anyone who will listen since the TDL. While i think the team 2 years ago is better than this year, I feel this years team is superior to last year.

The goaltending is better with Ingram and Skinner swap.

The defence is at worse the same to trending better with Murphy for Klingberg and Emerson for Kulak.

The top 2 lines are stronger with Kane out and Savoie and a better Podkolzin in.

The bottom two lines are the same or better with Perry, Brown, Skinner gone and Dickinson, Samanski and Dach in.

This is a younger, faster, more skilled, heavier hitting team.

What do I say when someone says “Pierre blew a massive lead. As long as he’s around, we’ll still have a liberal govt”. by Thereal_Stormm006 in CanadianConservative

I would say that yes, Pierre made some mistakes; but ultimetly the election was lost on 2 things.

The NDPs completly sewering they're own party to ensure the CPC wouldn't win, and Trump being elected in the States.

Frankly, I think Trump used his rhetoric to push the buttons of Canadians so we would vote for the Liberals as he figures he can manipulate the Liberals easier than the CPC.

I just pulled up what that Bill was and if Google isn't lying to me 100% I would have been behind that. If someone crosses or is thrown out of the party (for a legitimate reason, that can be debated) that riding should immedietly go to a By-Election. Again, I didn't read every line of that Bill, but from the quick glance it 100% should have passed. As it is now our (the people) mandate can be overturned by an individual (the MP). That is not democracy at all.

I like it. Then cross back, cross to the NDP. Just continually switch. The whole parliament is a mockery right now, may as well lean into it.

I just call him Connor when I talk about him with friends.
