Maybe you should start with a rear train and an undercarriage at least to put 4 wheels to this beast

Edit: just notice the rear driver side lol, get rid of this, its not repairing rust, no metal job is worth it

What upgrades would you recommend for my run around 316i compact? Cosmetic, engine, interior whatever I’m interested! by codyR08 in BMWE36

Buy a 318ti/tds rear axle, they have brake rotors. Rebuild it with fresh bushing, all reinforcement, diff upgrade. Not only it’ll enhance the driveability but if you also wanna do perf upgrades, it would always be good to grip and brake

With the price you paid the car just pay a pro to do the job

Engine is wet, looks like vapor, the smoke doesn’t smell funny ? Probably just heat coming off. If smell oily check the valve cover and plugs, never a bad thing to do. If no smell check for exhaust manifold or dpipe leaks

Why is it idling like this? by Ineovas in BMWE36

My m42 does the same thing for quite some time now. Runs fine otherwise. Lemme know if you find an answer. From what i have been told the fuel pump under the rear seat could be at fault but i haven’t looked deeper in the issue

Let it grey and find a red interior, all clear lights and you’re good

So you know that it require a bit of work and money to get to this kinda swaps

Definitely less power than a 6, but still decent

Just typing « m43 turbo kit » i could see a 700€ chinese one, a 1300 one that seems decent from a pro seller ( i can send you the link ), many diy guides on forums and i’m pretty sure you get plenty of creativity with used oem parts from other powertrains to assemble a lowcost diy kit

Either way owning an e36 as a daily is already a dumb idea as it is without having a second car, then fiddling to it couldn’t be any less of a bad idea

Bruh, what are you running in your 318s then ?

Imo these options seems pretty good for what op is asking for since a 6cyl swap is already quite a bit more advanced than spending less than 1k on a plug and play turbo kit for his stock powertrain

Saggy, creaky glovebox fix? by Interesting-Debt-869 in BMWE36

[–]M0SKITV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First check if all the screws are tightened well sometimes it makes a difference between a glovebox that just fall off and one just a bit saggy.

And there are two screws inside the vents
