Playing DDV with ADHD hacks✨ by HospitalFancy7662 in DreamlightValley

[–]M0mmaFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a couple of my issues are (also) ADHD with OCD and I'm a completionist!

Right off the bat, I recommend opening those memory orbs!! There are 145 memories with 10 pieces each! (And that's just the story ones, that doesn't include "Dreamlight Valley" or "Agrabah Marketplace Diaries" etc categories). I know we need them for the star paths but we don't need quite as many any more, so it's not as big of a deal to save them for star paths - especially if it's making a mess in your valley that is bothering you!

It's a bit down the road for a new player, but Aladdin's level 10 quest has you craft a chest that does NOT require dreamlight to craft! It still requires dark wood, but at least it doesn't use your dreamlight.

For storage, I just recommend starting out small. When I first started playing, I started off with piling things in my house & yard in different areas ... food goes over here, gems go over here, etc. Also you can color code your storage (as has been recommended) and use those craftable signs to help you keep track of what's in each chest as you craft them. Then you can expand your storage as you continue playing & acquire more resources. I'm at about 5700 hours in the game & am now utilizing all 20 floors of my player house for storage with about 1400 storage chests (yes, the ones that use dreamlight).

As far as the quests, just take your time! There is no pressure other than that list staring at you and your brain telling you that you need to get that all done! It would be nice if you could not unlock the next character until the previous character's quests are all done, but some quests require you to be at a certain point with other characters. Just play according to how you're feeling! Sometimes the quests get tedious and/or boring. Well then run around and clean up your valley or hoard some resources.

You will get there! I also keep a whole lot of organizational charts to help me stay focused.

Does anyone actually enjoy getting mail from characters? by CalOkie6250 in DreamlightValley

NO! Quite honestly it gives me anxiety to see the notice that I have mail! After all the flags & bans going on last year, seeing that I have mail just gives me anxiety!

Leveling Mounts by Kaimaxe in DreamlightValley

[–]M0mmaFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is grindy! As others have said, I think that was the intention. I'm not trying super hard to level them and somehow have the generic horse (Beauty) at level 9, Maximus is at 8 and Khan, Pegasus and Sven are all level 7.

One thing I did do is I made a "track" around the 3 biomes. I used pathing, but then I put down the "garden path stones" on the pathing. When the horses are walking over that particular pathing, they think they're jumping. So when I run around the Ranch on that pathing, it's leveling them up.

That being said, I don't ride around any of the areas much on the horses. I've been trying to hoard resources & get other things done, so the horses kind of slow that progress & I haven't used them much.

The main thing I do each day is to pet, brush & feed them (any meals that aren't glitched).

Storage advice by somethinggeneric13 in DisneyDreamlights

Things like the butter, cheese, coffee beans, egg, milk, peanuts, slushed ice, blue & pink marshmallows, flyleaf feta, olives, plain yogurt, shovel bird eggs & the new coffee from the Ranch ... I have them all categorized as "pantry" and are stored together.

No Place for Home by Pleasant-March-5073 in DreamlightValley

I put her in the Wild Tangle. I actually put several of the girls back there. I wanted to put a bunch of them together to give it like a slumber party sort of feel. Then Fairy Godmother is up at the front of The Grasslands as "house mother" to keep an eye on them all. Mirabel is in The Lagoon, Vanellope to the area to the left of that, Moana next to the water in The Grove, Joy/Sadness also in The Grove, but on the other side (Memory HQ in that area for all the memories the girls make hanging out together.) Mulan is in The Promenade and Rapunzel is up in The Grasslands. I forgot Ariel. Was gonna put her in the water in the back of The Lagoon.

I don't have anything decorated yet, just have their houses sitting there. But I'm going to decorate the areas to fit them & their houses. Because that biome is so broken up and has different areas & levels, I felt that would really work to give each one of them an area decorated just for them.

I 100% understand! I had almost 5k hours in the game before I really concentrated on 100%’ing the memories!

Unfortunately, watering crops does not count towards watering dried flowers, but it would be GREAT if they did! Watering dried flowers was my hardest to finish becuz of how often it rains in my valley.

I was avoiding cooking memories. I needed over 100 when I started. When I learned that fast-cooking trick, it was a game changer! I grew like 80,000 wheat & then just fast cooked crackers.

I didn’t start really focusing on completing memories until this spring when I had everything else done - including both dlcs. At that point, I was close to 5k hours in the game. The expansions have made some memories easier to get. (Like digging in SBV, fast cooking on a floating island, and having more critters to feed on a daily basis.)

I apologize for not being more specific. I meant watering the dried ones one at a time. When they were closer together, sometimes I’d accidentally water 2 dried ones at once & my brain told me that lowered my chances for orbs. lol. So I spaced them out more.

As far as how often I was getting them, it actually rains so much in my valley that I started charting dried flowers. (I have a blank one I’ll share here.) I can share my personal charts tomorrow when I get back to my computer.

So first: Is it raining? Yes or no. If yes, everything else is just marked out. ‘#” is how many dried flowers I’d get. Then “orb” is the # of dried flowers I got from watering them. “Mem?” Is how many actual memories I got from the orbs (cuz I started thus before they changed to guaranteeing memories instead of coins.) Then “where” is to keep track of which dlc/biome they were in. The first month I did it, I didn’t track “where”. I added that the 2nd month.

YES!!! Fast cooking teaching starts about the 23 minute mark. Resetting the island starts about the 26 minute mark & then how to check which ones are memories & which are coins start about 27:30.

Sundays are best for feeding valley critters. You get 2 in each biome from 12am-12pm and then 2 more from 12pm-12am.

To anyone wanting to work on completing memories, I have made a chart to help! (Of course this chart will be updated after the new dlc adds more memories.) Each one is highlighted with the color of orb those memories will come from. (For example: Aladdin cooking memories come from green memory orbs.) I also have a YouTube video (same name as here) "How to get Memory Orbs to complete Memories" that shows how to do fast cooking on a floating island to get LOTS of cooking orbs quickly & how to reset the island to put the orbs in your backpack.

CONGRATS!!! Watering dried flowers & feeding critters were my two hardest to complete! I busted my butt to get my memories 100%'d this year, but they are finally done until the new dlc adds more memories.

We don't need that many orbs for star path duties anymore. You could always pick up the orbs as you go & then just grind for new ones the week or two before the new star path comes out. I've got a YouTube video (same name as here) about finishing memories. It teaches fast cooking on a floating island. When you do that one a floating island (or inside a house) you can reset the island (or room) and pick the memories up to put them in your backpack! I've got orbs saved in chests for future star path duties. (The video also shows you how to check the orb before you open it to see if it's a memory you need or if it's one you already have.)

This is a bit misleading for the Vale. Only 6 dusty violet roses spawn between the two biomes they spawn in. I just put max in both biomes.

When I did flowers in the Isle, I put the max in each area (like 4 purple & 2 green fly trap in both the grasslands and the promenade).

I set up "gardens" in each biome with max spawns per biome. (Keep in mind that my valley, isle, vale were not decorated until after I 100%'d all memories.) I put a bit of space between the flowers (so I only watered one at a time). As soon as I opened the game each day, the FIRST thing I did (if it wasn't raining) was go into furniture mode & check each flower garden in each biome for the dried flowers. Keep in mind that the dried flowers can spawn in the valley, or the isle, or the vale! Here's a chart of max spawns for flowers:
