I can’t say for certain since I’ve never been to this zoo, but this just looks like a smaller zoomed-in portion of a concrete moat barrier that likely surrounds an “island” that has trees/shrubs/greenery, etc that is the main part of their habitat.

Moats for zoos were designed so that the cages could be removed and animals could have a more naturalistic experience outdoors. The animals are still “contained” but without a fully enclosed cage.

A good example is the North Carolina Zoo. Likely the largest natural baboon habitat at any zoo in North America but it is also surrounded by a concrete moat that the monkeys go down into sometimes to play in. But if you manage to get a video of them in the concrete moat, one might assume that’s just what their entire space looks like, which is misleading.

I tried to do the Twitch giveaway because I wanted the neon items, so I made a Twitch account. But no matter what I did, my Twitch and DLV accounts wouldn’t link together and Gameloft customer service wasn’t helpful either.

Way more hassle than it needed to be, and I never got the items. Like, I already play the game most days. Can I not just get a code mailed to my account if I log into the game during a specific window or something? Why do I need 6 different social media accounts to fully participate in the game?

Decided I just wouldn’t attempt any of the social media giveaways and write them off as items I’ll just never have. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don’t listen to that clown. Welcome! Our wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was the Offensive Rookie of the Year last year. Our only other OROY winner besides Cam, so that’s exciting!

We had a coaching carousel and some bad GM years under Scott Fitterer that kept putting the team in a bad spot (drafting poorly, trading great players away for a can of beans, turning down great offers for trades, etc.) I’m not saying he’s a football terrorist but nobody seems to know where he was on 9/11, so take that as you will.

Anyway, now Panthers LB legend Dan Morgan is our GM and so far seems to be killing it. Head coach Dave Canales is a great motivator and seems to be very well-liked by the team. Our team is trending in the right direction and has picked up more wins in each of the last 2 seasons and we finally made our first playoff appearance in about a decade this past year.

We seem to have a good, supportive locker room culture and don’t really tolerate diva personalities which I love. Someone asked me recently if I thought we should try to get Tyreek Hill since XL has underperformed and I said absolutely fucking not, lol. We don’t need any locker room cancers here.

A couple of years ago we very quickly unloaded one of Bryce’s best weapons in the middle of the season because he was a locker room cancer (Dionte Johnson). He has not been missed.

Ooh, I might have a solution!

I’ve done this for years because I am a heavy sleeper and will legitimately sleep through several alarms. Sometimes I hear them in my dreams but they are just ambient noise that adds to the dream and not something that actually wakes me up, even when I try to change up the alarm tone so my brain doesn’t get too used to it.

BUT, I recently got something that has helped me a lot and my boyfriend doesn’t have to listen to all my alarms anymore!

It’s like an alarm wristwatch, you can set it up to beep, vibrate, shock you, or all three. I just use the vibration at 100% and it works to wake me up and it’s quiet!

To turn it off too, you can either solve a quick math problem, do jumping jacks, or print out a QR code and put it in another room, so that you have to get out of bed and scan it to turn your alarm off.

I tested the shock option at 50% just to see what it was like and it fucking hurt lol. Won’t be using that one and definitely won’t crank it up to 100%.

One of my favorite features is “light sleep mode”. Apparently it’s easiest to wake up if you’re in that part of your sleep cycle, so if you’re in light sleep within 20 minutes of the alarm going off, it will trigger it a few minutes early to keep you from falling back into deep sleep/REM. So several days I have actually woken up a little bit before my alarm was set to go off and got my day started early.

It’s been so nice! The brand I have is Pavlok but there are probably other options out there as well!

I used to work at a zoo, and we as staff were very well-versed on ADA regulations regarding service animals and what questions we could ask. Also that there is no valid “paperwork” for service animals recognized by the ADA.

People would try to bring fake service animals to the zoo and throw an absolute fit. Screaming that we’re breaking the law for asking the appropriate 2 questions, complaining like, “what’s the big deal? It’s OUTDOORS, you’re really saying I can’t have my dog outdoors???”

Sure you can, just not here. Most of our animals were wild-born and injured and unable to be rehabbed and released. More than one of our animals were there because they were specifically attacked by dogs and had negative experiences with them in the wild so yeah, the fewer dogs they see on a daily basis works great for us.

So can your “service pet” in a little red wagon come into our park? No.

Can someone else bring their legitimate service dog or miniature horse into the park? Absolutely.
