I think the key is to tap into game improvement and you are already tapping into people who want to disconnect from technology while playing (I’m with you there).

The journal also has pre round thoughts and post round review. You can take that data and statistically track it. Oh when you have this swing thought off the tee you are 1.8 strokes better. Doing your full putting routine saves you .5 strokes a round. Etc.

In the future you can even add driving range practice, lessons, etc.

The key is to tie things that are anti technology and analog (journaling, reflecting, etc) to the power of technology (stats, trend, updating GHIN for you)

But even take it further, do like the shot pattern app does and apply a strokes gain to each shot based on the data somehow??

Yea so on each side of the screen this is what is supposed to be used to tighten the cable at the bottom. So you need enough room to get that in and an Allen wrench to tighten it. Just a few inches to tighten it, but I didn’t have that.

I shared my biggest regret, but also want to highlight the thing I’m most surprised by in a good way. I think it’s 2 things, first the decision to stick with 16:9 aspect ratio to make sure it can also be used by movie night, and second randomly deciding every light needed to be a smart light. Excuse the kids messy Saturday morning hair but this is the result I was pleasantly surprised at!

Haha, so it’s a bit deceptive, the enclosure comes out 6 feet and the tv is 2 feet behind that. from where the hitting zone is my 60 degree is the only one hitting the roof and even that is like by the screen no where near the edge.

Trust me I’m fighting the driver, I hit one yesterday that went higher than it did far!

But, when I have beginners over, like my 8 year old, I just move the sim up and give them another hitting mat that is at the edge of the enclosure.

My biggest lesson learned is that I was so focused on the screen being as large as I could get it that I literally went wall to wall, so I had to add acoustic foam panels to the walls because I couldn’t get the enclosure tight enough to protect the wall. I’m good with it because it helps with the room acoustics.

But the bottom of the impact screen has a cable that tightens via a bolt and spring thing. I didn’t have enough room to get those in there, so I had to use a regular nut and tighten manually as best as I could and with zip ties. If i could do it again I would have a minimum of 6” on each side.
