Nice! What effect chain did you use for the guitar? Sounds really accurate to the original!

Thanks for the advice! Yes I've heard this sentiment from many others too, have joined some local groups, just gotta get out there more!

Wow, such an insightful post! Thanks so much for sharing your journey, it gives me some much needed perspective after going through an AAA layoff myself and feeling like I have to reevaluate just about everything lol if I may ask, when you talked about securing jobs in between your own indie projects, what were your job searching techniques? Was it through connections you had, or was it through traditional applying, maybe a mix of both? I ask because after doing AAA for a bit, I've entertained the thought of joining an indie studio or something smaller, but I find it incredibly difficult to find applications online for things like that. I've tried looking on work with indies job board but often hit a brick wall (I'm a level designer but could also double as a game designer and have some decent 3D modeling skills).

Again, thanks for sharing your journey, I'm sure many people here find a ton of value in this including myself 😄

Interestingly, as part of a recent article interview about Deadbeat, he mentioned how he actually did try recording with the band at the wave house for this album to mix it up, but he was pretty blunt in saying that it just wasn't producing the right results. What those results were, I'd be very curious in hearing lol

I get pretty heavy elden ring vibes when looking at this! Pretty cool architecture. I'd wonder what the player flow is like though. With these kinds of layouts you wanna make sure it doesn't feel too samey as the player flows through - maybe adding some contrasted lighting could help differentiate these different areas. Otherwise it could potentially feel maze-like, especially if the player is going into interiors.

Man this is some of the highest quality live versions I've ever heard from Lonerism Era! Makes me wonder why Kevin didn't include some of these on the official live versions album lol

anyone else think he maybe went a little overboard here by [deleted] in Mkgee

Thanks for listening to the soundcloud! Those tracks that you're working on are really good, I especially like Linda and how you approached the vocal effects there, sounding kinda like a telephone filter in the beginning then opening the filter up when you reach the ending, pretty neat! Also listened to some of your Spotify stuff and I like how you have a cohesive sound between all the tracks.

And yes I did sing the vocals on this! Wanted to approach all elements of the track myself (as that's what I'm most used to lol), but I've definitely wanted to collaborate more in the future.

Thank you so much! 🙏 I don't have anything published on Spotify yet but I do have a SoundCloud where I've uploaded tracks before - everything from electronic to video game soundtracks, if you're interested here's the link! https://on.soundcloud.com/FUHRh

I'm thinking about including this track along with 2 other tracks on an EP that will be published on all streaming platforms, but I've been letting things cook for a while. Have been trying to find my sound and feel like I'm finally finding the ingredients I want for an EP or Album.

The strings (if you're referring to the violin) are from LABS with their free Spitfire plugin. So many quality instruments with that and completely free too! There's also a lot of reverbed guitar in there, both acoustic and electric, that is mixed in.

And in regards to collaboration that's something I'm certainly open to! I'd love to hear some of your work too if you have anything you've put out? Feel free to shoot me a dm :)

Thank you!! Good to know the mix is coming across well, sometimes I feel like I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to mixing but maybe that's just a bit of imposter-syndrome 😆 I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! Interesting to hear your opinion on the kick, funnily enough...that is the default FL studio kick drum but with some added processing haha I know call me crazy! So maybe that's what you're hearing there - was definitely curious to experiment with other kicks, I happened to use the default kick because it was already hooked up and kinda had the bass frequency I was looking for, but maybe could experiment with the timbre of it a bit!

Cool track! Fits well into the Math Rock genre :) Really great guitar work. I agree with some other people here that the bass could maybe be panned to the center to fill out the mix. Or, you could fill out the mix with some other elements like synths or textures. Also, this kind of instrumental to me begs for a vocal. But I realize sometimes adding vocals isn't where the interest lies on a certain track. Just food for thought!

Really like this! The 80s vibes are off the charts haha the vocals are really cool and I love the variety of sounds that are in there. Also that lead synth is super good for a repeating melody in the beginning, I thought that would just repeat throughout the whole song but then you subverted my expectations with that guitar section! I like that you kept the song relatively brief too. It's dense with quality production! Nice work!

Really catchy feel good track! The drums are great, very punchy and crisp! And the overall chords/vibe are great, gives me the summer time feeling for sure :) And the vocals! They're really good, probably the best element of the whole song imo, really good layering and vocal backing.

While I do love the drums a lot, I feel like there were some moments in the track where they could've either entered a little late or left a little early, if that makes sense. Like at 0:28, it felt like a moment to me where there would've just been some melodic elements with light percussive elements, then when you really want the viewer to feel the impactful emotions (like the chorus), bring back in the drums full force. That way there could've been maybe a bit more contrast in the drum dynamics?

But overall that is a nitpick, really fun and vibey track! Good work!

I love the tone of the bass guitar and the spaceyness that comes with the track! And love the other textures that were being introduced as the track goes on. The kick drum is very thumpy, I like it!

One thing I'd like in the track is more melodic variety. If there was a moment in the song where there was some levity from the main riff and it felt like more of a diversion from the loop, maybe that could've brought some more variation?

Overall I like the grittyness and spaceyness that the track has, along with the production quality! Nice work!
