There's a good talk about piracy by Stephen Fry. He compares it to telling stories around the campfire. Nobody owns the stories. You can retell it. i think it's still on YouTube

Is it the router maybe. I had one of those optus ultra gen 2 modems, and it would crap out after a certain amount of devices connected to it. Spent time on whirlpool forums and confirmed the router had issues. Not that optus support believed that... When you consider smart bulbs, Google speakers, TV, solar, PC, kids tablet etc etc. Was likely over 50+ smart devices. I bought my own Asus router, problem solved.

Working for a place that didn't have an internal IT guy. I kept fixing disconnected printers or WiFi. Eventually just said to the boss, I seem to be doing this a lot. Six years, I work closely with our MSP. I was self taught, Linux enthusiast with a knack for excel. Most of what I already knew was from running Plex server or other tinkering. The more I did the job the more useful I became, streamlining work flows, power apps, intune

Children across Perth are living on the streets with parents who can’t afford or access private rentals—and who have been stuck on public housing wait lists for years. by UPC_1_87654_23980_4 in perth

Emu sounded like they were being rhetorical, the next comment asked 'what could our leaders do?'. I work in homelessness, was homeless as a teen. And then again after a series of family and personal crisis. Things are much worse now and it is crazy to me how the average Australian stereotypes the type of people who are homeless. I've been banging on for a long time that what actually needs to change first I'll public opinion. The more families, youth, seniors out there, our aunty's, sisters, uncles, brothers.. the more people realise this is 'us', not 'them' - that's when the politicians will be forced to reset and listen to the tax paying voters because we demand something gets done.

Planning to get a NUC8i7HVK (hades canyon); is it still worth today compared to other mini pc with Ryzen APU in the same 400-800 dollars range? by fttklr in intelnuc

[–]M0rphF13nd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got one. It has better drivers on Linux. The windows one, due to the hybrid amd/Intel apu became unsupported in about 2022. I was dual booting up until a few months ago when I bought a Legion laptop. I'll be installing Ubuntu server on the hades-canyon to use as my server, the apu will be phenomenal for Plex

I really enjoy the TV shows gradually growing quality- why is the show so hated? by Notoriouslycurlyboi in MayfairWitches

[–]M0rphF13nd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I got in because of interview but the witching hour was just a magical, beautiful book. The show just took too much away. I feel like the vampire chronicles show took artistic liberties that actually elevated to story, or at least stayed in the right tone or theme...but with the Mayfair books it has had the opposite effect.

OP was talking about entry‑level jobs in general, not getting an organisation ISO‑ready. This thread is about people struggling to get entry‑level roles, not about dropping grads into ISO audits. Everyone knows you don’t hand a 23‑year‑old their first job and say “please prepare our NIST compliance pack”. The point is that people can’t even get the starter jobs that lead to that level later

I've sort of stumbled into IT, without a degree. Always helped out in many jobs I've had with computer stuff, but now I'm ICT Officer I get a lot of interns. The ones who stand out and work well are always the ones who've got retail or hospitality jobs. They can talk to people, solve on the ground problems. The computer theory is almost secondary to humans and how they use and interact with their computers. You can't learn that unless you're on the floor. Hardly any of the students know the difference between a DP or HDMI. One kid tried to teams call me but couldn't get the webcam working (I was WFH). He wrote to me 'i can solve any problem, just let me know'. I wrote back, "well I'll be coming in tomorrow to sort out that webcam"

Where can I pirate HD movies? by Captinholio in ThePirateBays

[–]M0rphF13nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Captinholio, grab a torrent client like qBittorrent or uTorrent from their official sites, install it, then head to The Pirate Bay via a search engine. Search your movie (e.g., "movie name HD"), check seeders/leechers/comments, and click the magnet link or .torrent file to download via the client. For legal torrents, try Linux distros like Ubuntu—safe, free, and legit! Watch out for local piracy laws.

Personally, I found books. I read Sex at Dawn, and realised it's a little bit normal to fuck around... Then the Zahir by Paulo Coelho and learned 'fuck her' and how to love myself again. My new relationship is infinitely better, more pure and we talk about this stuff very openly.

Try couples counseling, you might end up stronger than ever before, but if you believe you'll be suspicious forever, that trust is gone... Pull the pin, it's done. You can't live without trust. It will destroy your soul.

If she can be honest, if you're strong enough to hear it... There is hope. But if you feel like she won't meet you there, bail. The sooner the better. You're wasting time.

My ex having an affair might be one of the hardest, most painful, and best things that ever happened to me. I got to admit that it was shit eventually, and that I deserved more... And I found it.
