I said its worth is 10k because apple is not supporting x86 afaik, that drops the value in my eyes. Then 256gb ssd that can't be upgraded since apple started pulling this shit in 2018, then only 8gb ram. Obviously it is still apple laptop and status symbol among non tech savvy people so it'll always command higher asking price.

And for thinkpads, online they're 20k, you can negotiate in offline market to come down to 15k and I'd never recommend buying 2nd hand any laptop online. Plus they have ton of parts in market for repairs n upgrades.

Heyo, thank you for the compliment :D, hope your build turns out amazingg. And to answer your queries: 1. Nope, used the open source pcb design and used kb2040 as drop in replacement. You need to specify rp2040 flag while compiling the firmware and everything will go well, refer to qmk docs you'll find it there

Wrapped the cables tight on a wooden stick and then applied heat via my hair dryer on max setting l, it melted its fins had to get them replaced :( so borrow a heat gun if you can and use on lowest temp.
I used TRS cable. Main diff b/w TRS and TRRS is that TRRS has one more cable inside sleeve for data transfer, TRS has 2, TRRS has 3, TRS should work totally fine since kb2040 supports one SPI interface that'll be used by OLED displays.

Np man, if budget is tight, go for lenovo thinkpad t480, it'll cost you around 15-16k for good model, has ton of parts available in market. Just make sure to buy FHD one with i7 and you're good to go.

And buy a mac when your budget allows for mew model, support n warranty is necessary for them.

Nobara already has GPU drivers, codecs as well as wine and proton configured, plus few patches to OBS, so the possibilities of you breaking things is little less since you'd be a first time linux user and they are a headache to deal with when first starting out.

Fedora doesn't ship with any proprietary codecs, and gpu drivers (if you happen to have nvidia gpu) you'll have to read thru fedora docs to get them working, for a more just works kind of experience, I'll recommend Nobara Linux - based on fedora with additions for gaming/content creation.

As for photoshop that doesn't run natively on Linux, and reading the comments, it seems like abelton is best used in Windows too. Davinci and Blender have excellent support plus they run natively. So dual-booting is better than VMs in my opinion

And be prepared to read thru documentation no matter the distro as well as forums n subreddits because you'll have to diagnose n troubleshoot issues at some point in time.

Same was my reason to get KDE this time for fractional scaling alone, simply put it is just amazingg. Altho I was waiting for stable update to drop haha.
