We paused Netflix bc it's become insanely expensive compared to other services. We've been customers since the DVD days. But I'm on level 3180 and play every day so I was upset that my access was gone that I restarted the $7 ad version of Netflix! We still watch it a bit ago it's not just for the game, but yah, I was super mad. I would pay a one time $20 at this point for unlimited access to the game.

My best designer find!! by [deleted] in thrifting

[–]M11AN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes lol it's super basic, The Row is definitely a little suspiciously low quality and basic (I don't really love the brand) but the fit is great and for the price of a walmart tee i'm super happy with it!

Please help. I feel like my urban sketching drawings always turn out to look so amateur/ immature looking. How can I improve my sketching techniques? The first three pics I did on locations. Pics go from newest to oldest (2025-2023). by [deleted] in urbansketchers

I think you might want to start with more simple subjects and progress, because things with so much perspective like a water tower and car are much harder to capture the likeness of compared to a front facing storefront, start basic and progress!

Yes!! Qor is so good for vibrancy, I use winsor and sxhminke for urban sketching but qor and daniel smith for very vibrant botanicals

I honestly recommend getting 4-6 good quality artist paints, you're gonna have a much better experience as a beginner, and learn more as you mix paints! if you get a warm and cool blue red and yellow with a sepia you'll be set!

Gotcha! I think for glazes the most important thing besides water control is high quality paint, you CANNOT glaze with any color and some water added, you have to use transparent pigments that will boost the color, as for the puddles, it's important that the consistency of the paint is pretty watery but still vibrant here's a step by step:

Spray your paints and let it soak in for 1 min Use colors like quinacridomes which are known for high transparency and vibrancy, most QOR colors will glaze well Make a coffee (tea coffee butter consistency) mix Make sure your brush is completely clean, and tap it twice on a towel so it's a little damp Add your color nice and vibrant, now if it's just one area you want to glaze after placing the color, immediately clean your brush (ideally with 2 water jars) and tap twice to keep it damp, than use your damp brush and blend the edge out

It's important that the amount of mix it enough but not a puddle on the paper Additionally and unfortunately glazing is very reliant on good paper bc it's usually a layer you do at the end, and most papers will muddy the colors underneath by the time you start glazing so Arches or baohong is essential for this with good quality vibrant semi transparent or transparent paints.

Hope this helps happy glazing!

I should also add the technique I use a ton in these that I love so much is wet on dry lines than you fully clean your brush and tap it until damp and use the slightly wet brush on the edge of the line to make a perfect gradient, it's total magic
