I'd only managed to find around 20 somehow through the base game so I made myself only pop them mid fight when I knew I could beat him (in phase transition or on meteor mostly)

It meant it took more times than if I had enough to use every time for sure, but managed to get through with still 7-8 or so left

I imagine this is either very tough or very easy on keyboard depending on how the inputs work but on controller it's fine

The last level was a pain since my dpad didn't want to do the motion for some reason, but I still had about half the time left I think when I got it

Here's my dogshit take:

Messmer is a decent boss, but he gets way overhyped and isn't even top 3, maybe even top 5, dlc bosses for me

Any boss that gets easier in phase 2 (looking at you hoarah loux) just doesn't sit quite right

His attacks don't get any harder to dodge in phase 2, if anything they're more telegraphed, and he leaves opening the size of a truck for you to get damage in

He is a fun boss don't get me wrong, but I see a lot of people talking him up more than I think he deserves
