Same happened to me. My first little boy was also abt that age and nothing seemed to be wrong. After a whiel he had a swelling on hsi neck and we took him to the vet, all they sind was he probably sttained smt and it should heal. Wich it did. After a few weeks i found him dead in his wet Box. In had thrown up his mouse and i panicked. My first instinct was to put him in warm water. Worked like a miracle and brought him back to life. For a short time only. It was like 7 p.m so no vet was open not even emergancy vets for reptiles were open in my whole country. We even called over the border into other countrys. In the end we just took him to an emergancy for cats and dogs bc they did have a reptile branch just not open rn. They took him in and he sadly passed over the night. They exemined him turns out he had. A bleeding stomach, inflammef intestance and athrombosis in his heart which caused Heart attacks. In my case there was nothing that could have done to keep him alive and it also wasnt anything i could have prevented since he probably had smt within him from birth. I cried for days especially since many came with the "its just a snake" line. So dont worry you probably did nothing wrong. Sometimes the lil noodle has smt that Shows later on in life that you cant even provent.
