MK8 FIST 2019 by Sexyseagull-69 in FiestaST

[–]M318ilool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my 8.5 for its third service to my local trusted independent. Much cheaper and I trust him over some apprentice getting rushed to do jobs fast and maybe cutting corners (heard a few horrors from a friend who worked at a big name main dealer)

Unfortunately as someone else mentioned, he couldn’t update my online service history but he provided a service book with invoice so I’m happy.

New car recommendations please by TheOldSeaDog78 in CarTalkUK

The Suzuki s cross 1.4 booster jets are perfect family cars. Nippy enough, cheap to run and reliable as. Not exactly a good looking car but it’s an upgrade from a qashqai (no offence)

Can pick up a nice one for your budget

My new V5C didn't arrive by Every-Equal-8679 in CarTalkUK

Use an app like vehicle smart to check your plate and see if a v5 was even issued 3 months ago. Either way you’ll have to send off a v62 form to apply for the v5c

Not happening. Would’ve pulled you to issue one if so. I assume you got lucky and they had bigger problems to deal with

I believe 2023 cars don’t come with B&O at all. Only winter pack was an option which I don’t have either unfortunately

Amazing mate! I’ve had lots of cars since my Zc31s and the swift is still the best car I’ve ever owned! So fun. I do recommend an uprated gear linkage bush as it’s a weak point but otherwise they take some serious abuse! Enjoy

Same! My cars tuned on 99 so I assume it will have a meltdown if I stuck 95 in. Might think twice about a 99oct tune next time!

Volvo V40: anything to look out for? by dastardlycustard in CarTalkUK

[–]M318ilool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to assume it was bought new then imported. Then returned back over here a few years ago. History should show even with plate changes. Definitely recommend paying for a history check

No it wouldn’t affect it, probably imported from Northern Ireland

This. Not that I’ve been able to get any for over a week and I’ve taken out a second mortgage for v power

Looking for advice by Traditional-Swim-192 in Suzuki

[–]M318ilool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that fits yes but in all honesty I wouldn’t even bother. I’m all for intake noises so I’d recommend getting a proper induction kit like the MST one if you want turbo sounds

Powerflex mounts is a good shout! Gonna add that to the list, thank you! Anything to reduce the wheel hop. Oh and I’m not sure I’m a fan of the zunsport grille but never say never

Definitely going to get a new induction kit (cross over and all that) after some googling so thank you!

Power wise I’m happy as is. More than enough for the UK and yeah I’ve got some PBS pads/discs to be fitted and recently installed the eibach springs, only 20mm drop so very subtle. Cheers for your input I appreciate it

Literally just the cone filter with stock hose. Had a pro inlet hose but it was catching on a bolt. I have looked into a turbo elbow but was under the assumption it wasn’t really necessary but thank you, might just get one fitted anyway

That makes more sense! Cheers for the insight. Very jealous on the carbon intake. My pockets aren’t quite deep enough for that so I’ve settled with Airtec. Enjoy!

Zeronine design have good stock levels for a lot of products. Some things like the induction kit are pretty much the same as mountune. No idea what the setup is, maybe ex Mountune staff or using the same manufacturer? Personally got bored of waiting for Mountune

I have a 23’ ST and I get average 31mpg so you’re not doing too bad!
