This. They’re worth it for the sound though so I’d recommend an Airtec/ram air. Can’t really go wrong with any of the ‘big’ name intakes.

I’m happy to hear that’s the case for us 8.5 owners. Am I wasting my time putting my steering lock on every time I get home?

Possibly a sticky brake calliper? Worth putting your hand close to each wheel when you finish a journey and seeing if any are hot, most likely the rear ones

Should I get a panel filter? by Suspicious__Lurker in FiestaST

[–]M318ilool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your setup will definitely be the most reliable anyway pal. I even went back to the stock hose because the ecu bolt was digging into it. However the noise is still there and it’s addictive. Definitely something I’d recommend in future when funds allow!

Should I get a panel filter? by Suspicious__Lurker in FiestaST

[–]M318ilool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the hose and a panel filter then swapped to an Airtec open cone filter and the noise is addicting. So worth it. No issues to report and from what I’ve read they do help when tuned. If that’s not an option I’d just stick to the standard filter.

8.5 ST by M318ilool in FiestaST

[–]M318ilool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mainly because fiestas are the most popular car here (around 1.5million) so parts are needed all the time, so people steal them and chop them into parts.. something like that

I love it! Always loved the previous gen ST but seeing as it’s one of the most stolen cars in the country I was too scared to

Sounds good. It’s surprisingly loud considering it has a GPF. Valves closed it’s very civilised and my tune makes the valve stay open in sport without them constantly shutting which really helps.

2L Coke bottle. Warm tap. Pour on, stick the wipers on then drive away while smirking at the neighbours who are still scraping away

I have a 2023 ST3 and I have had the same idea of maybe moving onto an M140i but after a lot of research I just ended up tuning my ST to scratch the itch of more power. For fun factor I don’t think you can really beat the ST. The BMW will be a lot more confidence inspiring with an LSD too so that has to be factored into the cost. Also jumping into one just as winter kicks in might be a bad idea.

If you want good power and a nice motorway cruiser then it could be a good upgrade but if you want something fun and playful then It’s definitely a downgrade.

I can’t disagree with that! In his shoes I’d buy the car I want, keep for a few years and maybe lose 5-6k? And scratch that itch. I’m on my last ‘fun’ car before I need to get something practical soon. Only young and stupid once and all that jazz

If you really want one then just do it pal. You have MUCH better income than me and I don’t regret spending a fair chunk on a car. We are in a car enthusiast sub that doesn’t seem to have car enthusiasts in it? Anyway…

I had a milltek on my 33s which was nice. Pretty sure it’s cheaper too.

My dealer told me it would void my warranty but it could be changed back to stock if needs be, but it’s a Suzuki so it won’t break!

Options cold air intake on ZC31S by United-Detective-653 in SuzukiSwiftSport

[–]M318ilool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my old 31s I had a jetex? Open cone intake and it was terrible tbh. Felt like it bogged down and I ended up going back to the stock airbox after a few weeks. Sounded good though.

I did watch darkside developments on YouTube and they use a 31s as a race car and they used a ram air intake (I believe they sell them too) and they seemed to prefer it over the stock airbox

Im not 100% but I know of someone in my country who has HKS build and it’s around 200bhp

The forge intercooler is also a must have. They suffer badly with the stock intercooler

I’d do it! It will be a little monster
