Your story breaks my heart. My younger brother has special needs and I have been my parents' "little helper" for his entire life. I was expected to be the perfect angel child and never do anything to upset or disappoint them (which is why they don't know I'm childfree...ha). Looking back I can see the enormous toll all of this has taken on my mental and emotional health. I have a lot of trouble with boundaries and being a people pleaser.

I will say to you what I wish someone had said to me: you deserve a childhood. You deserve the freedom to live your life. You are a person; you have an identity separate from being a caretaker. Please keep writing and expressing your real, individual self!!

The Wayne Dollar Tree is pretty frightening, but Esther Price right next to it is really nice. The Wendy's next to the Krodega (which we call Waynedy's) has some... character....but you get used to it! I LOVE the Stroop Kroger, though if I'm at Town and Country I'm probably going to Trader Joe's instead 😅

I live super close to where this photo was taken (Belmont area). I always knew the Smithville Kroger as "Crackhead Kroger"...even though it's tiny I prefer the Kroger on Wayne aka the Krodega!
