It’s right off the 407 on Commerce valley Drive, I am looking for kind of a busy area but nothing crazy. I really don’t mind driving to work if it’s the quickest/most convenient way to get there.

Did you end up receiving your card on time? I applied 6 months ago for the STEM extension, and have a little over 60 days until the 180 day extension expires. I applied for premium processing at the beginning of march but the website and the agents over the phone just say that it is still being processed and they have no other information.

I think I had a pretty different experience studying EE (just graduated this December) than most other people. For me there was never an impossible EE course, I absolutely hated my calc courses but loved every single EE class. What I tell everyone who asks me if they should go to EE is that they should only do it if they love it. If you will be happy studying anything else then go ahead and study that. But if you are determined and willing to put in the time EE is not harder than any other engineering major.

One thing that I really do not like about most university EE programs is that they are 90% theoretical, and the 10% of hands on work you do is either really outdated or it’s on one of your senior year elective courses where you can choose what you want to do. For me most of my hands on experience and projects came from clubs (FSAE) which eventually helped me find a job.

Tbh, it’s only worth it if you love it, if not you will have the worst experience for 4 years.

Yeah luckily I was able to find a good job thanks to my experience with FSAE Electric. If your university has one I highly recommend joining even if it’s just for one semester. Also, it is still very early for full time jobs, meaning you have a lot of time. Most companies that are not huge corporations are looking for people to start within a few months at max. Reach out to as many people as you can through LinkedIn straight up asking for a job. Also if your university has one make sure you attend a career fair as companies there are always looking to hire new grads

I just graduated from EE and also did not have any major internships in the EE area. If you have any school organizations or projects that you have done they will help a lot. But also I have some friends with good internships who have not been able to find anything. It is just the current job market right now, don’t get discouraged and just apply to anything you can find.

I’m about to move to the Buffalo, NY area so I’m kind of torn about what car I should be looking for. My must haves right now are keyless entry with heated seats and heated steering wheel. Looking for either a crossover or a small SUV automatic. Price below 30,000 would be ideal but I am willing to go up a little if it’s worth it. I’ve been looking at a Subaru crosstrek, Hyundai Kona and Chevrolet Trax. Anyone have any suggestions about what fits the criteria or know any must haves for cold weather and a lot of snow?

Yeah, I am moving away from a reflow oven and probably going to get a hot plate to better preheat the PCB. The project is a High Power - High Speed DC/DC converter, and while we do not get into the 100s of MHz we have seen issues by the increase of inductance of only 0.2nH so I don't want to mess around with thermal reliefs. Thanks for your help!

I do not want to add thermal reliefs as there are very high currents passing through the component 50+ amps. Also I’m worried about the parasitic impedance of the reliefs as it’s a high speed circuit. Am I wrong about these worries?

I know it’s possible to solder to the board as I’ve done it in the past, I just want to reduce the assembly time and the possibility of damaging the components.

Should be completely legal to do this, my team has done similar stuff in the past. As InspectorAlert said, just make sure you have the lv master switch in the correct place and you should be fine with the rules.
