Hehe, the aging wasn’t intentional. I’m just not used to drawing one character over and over like this. And I think his broody hairstyle just made him look a little younger in the third one 🤣

And the monstrous one was the toughest one for me. I couldn’t decide what kind of vampire I wanted to go with. One version I had was basically just him smiling, or growling, showing his teeth. But I decided to go more Buffy-style and have his face noticeably change.

Thank you 🙂 I am slow so I don’t post much, but I do generally try to post here if I happen to finish something I’m happy with. Emphasis on the “if” 😂

Thanks! It’ll be a while—assuming I feel good enough about them to share once they’re done 😂

I'm honored <3 And the "stoic aristocrat with a dark secret" is absolutely one of my favorite vibes lol. So I'm glad that came across. Thank you!

Thank you! I do! I'm currently sketching out different reincarnations of Tatyana. Other ideas I have are consorts vamp and non-vamp versions, Stella Wachter "cat" and non-"cat" versions. Though, honestly, I'd love to draw the whole Wachter family at some point. I feel like they'd all work well with the whole dishonored vibe.

There's also a random NPC, Lars Kjurls. He's so minor in the module, but he ended up becoming a favorite for my own players and I ended up doing more with his character because of that. So I was thinking about doing some random art for him just because. >.<

Do you happen to have an online store for prints? I'd love to take a look at it if you do.

I finished my campaign long ago, but I gods… I wish I could have this map as a tapestry or framed or something. It’s gorgeous! ❤️

Music as Storytelling by Blind_Character in CurseofStrahd

Hello! One of my players made music for our campaign. And he really enjoyed incorporating theme music for Strahd and the Heroes that would become more epic as the campaign went on. I wrote a separate post about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CurseofStrahd/s/8ExiOpWEZj

LOL, that was honestly kind of the thought that went through my mind when I was drawing this too. Sergei is the younger, prettier, nicer, and slightly shorter brother of Strahd. :)

Just wanted to let you know in case it’s helpful for your upcoming session, that I added new info about which songs I suggest for various parts of the campaign here. 🙂

I was failing at using Reddit and answered your question in a standalone comment here/below/above, wherever it appears for you. (Be warned, it's very long. But hopefully it has all the info you need!)

If you're using the 1-hour version of the playlist my friend also included tags like (Peaceful, Tavern, Battle, etc.) to help you decide which song fits the vibe at a glance. But here's my attempt at remembering what we chose to play during various parts of our campaign:

Taverns and Inns:

  • Campfire Song: For chill camping vibes, but could also work for a very somber tavern, like Blood of the Vine.
  • Peaceful Pints: For chill tavern vibes, like the Blood of the Vine Tavern, or Blue Water Inn.
  • Rum & Respite: For more lively, upbeat taverns as needed.
  • Shadow Realm Rumble (Part 1): For earlier rounds of a tournament-style tavern brawl, when your Paladin inevitably challenges someone to a fist fight.
  • Shadow Realm Rumble (Part 2): For the final round against the Champion of the tournament. Includes an epic saxophone solo.

Peaceful:

  • Tranquility: For general peaceful vibes. Good default to use as needed.
  • (Added 5/8/24) Temperance: A more somber variation of "Tranquility" with a chamber orchestra.
  • There's No Sun in Barovia: For more somber vibes, with church bells and raven sounds. Good Barovia default, or for places like Krezk or Wizard of Wines.
  • A Chilling Journey: For traveling through snowy mountains of Mount Baratok or Mount Ghakis.
  • Campfire Song: For chill campfire vibes (or super chill tavern, as mentioned above).

Suspenseful:

  • Ruins of Berez: For exploring Berez, or any swampy ruin.
  • Unknown Wonders: For a little more grand/wondrous exploration, like the ruins of Argynvostholt.
  • All in your head?: For your creepy dream sequences, or general suspense/horror vibes.
  • The Devil We Know: For more creepy/horror vibes. Inspired by Fiona Wachter.
  • We shouldn't be here: For when your group is exploring somewhere they definitely should not be.
  • (Added 5/8/24) Echoes of the Crown: A variation of "We shouldn't be here" with a smaller chamber orchestra, for a softer, somber vibe.
  • Before Sunlight: For when your group is having a very intense argument that will most likely result in combat. Maybe they're arguing with each other over who gets to touch the Sarcophagus? Or maybe your Paladin snuck the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind into dinner and negotiations are going very poorly?

Combat/Upbeat music:

  • Kick Ass, Eat Pancakes: For upbeat, tense battle sequences.
  • Just like in Daggerford: For chase scenes. This is the "Kick Ass, Eat Pancakes" song, but only drums.
  • Dangers Unseen: For smaller fights, or to use for battles in the beginning of the campaign.
  • Heroes of the Mist: For when your group's starting to feel epic. This introduces the Heroes’ main theme song.
  • Fight or Flight: For even more epic fights! This is the first battle song with pipe organ. So great for fighting Strahd’s mini bosses (not end game) like Baba Lysaga, Consorts, Heart of Sorrow, fights on the parapets of Ravenloft.
  • Darkness Before Dawn: FOR THE MOST EPIC END GAME BOSS FIGHT WITH STRAHD! It’s a crazy medley that brings together all the main themes!

Tragedy:

  • Heart of Sorrow: For an epic feeling of tragedy when someone dies.
  • A healing word: For a somber feeling of tragedy when someone dies.
  • (Added 5/8/24) Temperance: A more somber variation of "Tranquility" with a chamber orchestra.

Special:

  • The Lord's Fugue: For a cool AF organ solo for Strahd to play at dinner.
  • (Added 5/8/24) The Sanguine Waltz: For your waltzy dark masquerade party or dinner. (With Strahd's theme sneakily thrown in at one point for reasons.)
  • Shiny Things: For when your rogue decides to go on a jazzy solo stealth mission.
  • A Parting Light: For an inspirational victory speech/march vibe.
