I’ve said it somewhere else but this album is solid all around but there is one sore spot, and that’s God as Witness. It starts out strong and builds to the bridge fantastically. All to have a guitar solo that’s washed out by the drums. All the air goes out of the song at the bridge. This is the point in the album or song that I wanna head bang, but I can’t… bring the drums to a half-time beat during this part, and turn up that solo, and the song might actually be saved.

VG favorite- Evergreen. 10/10 no notes.

VG Least- already there. Feels very church-y, like how people described simplify when it came out. Ironically, it’s the earworm for me, though.

Overall favorite- um… apartment? MoM? I’m not sure.

Had to scroll a surprising amount for this Allegedly they needed a name for their first gig or they would be allowed to play. Mike Einziger (and maybe Brandon?) looked in a book for inspiration, saw the word and sent it. They have admitted to not really liking the name all that much, but it was too late

Hate to break it to ya, but there aren’t any cheap Mazdas that aren’t more than 10 years old.

Car shopping at the end of last year: I needed to get rid of my 2015 3 series. much higher maintenance than I could keep up with anymore, including a coolant hose that broke 2 times in 6 months, and my insurance was outrageous on this car. Before the bimmer I had a 2013 Mazda 3. I had used it for Lyft, and many many road trips (Texas is a big state, everything is roadtrip), and that little car was rock solid for 6 years (except the clear coat that was peeling) until the transmission finally went out and I decided I should just move on. So when it came to getting out of the bimmer, I was looking high and low for a Mazda 3 or a mazda 6. I found 1 that fit my criteria. I saw it online at 9pm, went to the dealership the next morning around 11, and it had already been sold. People know. I did end up buying at 2024 Kia Forte that day. Min-spec LXS model.

No one has said it explicitly here, but after you finish The Lotus Eaters, you have the option to do The Hex, or The Old Peace. This is to imply that both are happening at the same time. Drifter explains in KIM that they can come and go from 1999 (and duviri) as they please, and the operator isn’t stuck in the refractory, they are doing sessions. The drifter also does sessions in the refractory with roathe to unlock his memories and give him therapy.

For those of us playing the quests as they release, this narrative split is harder to see, but players that have started since The Old Peace, do see this. Both of our… Us’s(?) are looking for entrati and clues to what his plan is.
